Sadly in the UK, since December '22, you can only fly while maintaining unaided line of sight, ie, no binoculars, telescopes or on screen map orientation. If you fly FPV you require a spotter stood with you in order to meet the requirement. You have to be able to determine the orientation of the craft at all times. With the size of the DJI minis, that means a distance restriction of maybe only 150-200 yards.

They already lost Europe for the 3, since they decided it didn't need to work with regulations that will come little over a year after release. Just bought a Mini 3 Pro with accessories that I am going to return for a full refund due to DJI’s failure to release it’s SDK so 3rd party software companies (ie Dronelink, Litchi) can release autonomous waypoint software that will work with more expensive RC controllers. DJI promised to release SDK in 2022 then “changed its mind” and told all the consumer grade purchasers, go buy an enterprise grade drone. Watch out for this same treatment on the Mini 4. DJI Mini 3 offers no waypoint flying software software with Mini 3 Pro.

The mini lineup is entry level and if you are really into footage you buy something else so the camera upgrades are "meh". The flight time is expected to increase with every model so nothing here. The flight distance of 22km is impressive but one wonders for how long you'll be able to go that far. More and more countries are implementing various laws and at the place I reside now the maximum distance I can (legally) fly is up to 2km from the starting point. I could probably go further but that would involve requesting permissions from aviation agency. Sooner or later the whole thing will be heavily regulated globally, it has to be.

The Mini 3 Pro was my first and last 250 gram drone. Way too light on windy days and with fewer downward facing sensors, I’m almost always forced to guide it in for a precision landing. What DJI really needs to do is have built in anti-collision lights and make it weigh under 250g with prop guards so it falls under Category 1, allowing you to fly over people.
