Someone said that the hole is for a stitch marker. 🐞

I thought the hole at the end was so that you could hang it around your neck with a bit of scrap yarn. That way you don't lose your hook when you get up to tend to kids, make coffee, etc. 😊

I rubbed a dryer sheet then microfiber cloth on the shaft and the drag disappeared

Those who have WIP Carts can use "S" hooks to hang the ones they are using for the WIPs on the cart.

I heard (from one of their people) they are planning to come out with the bigger sizes at some point. Yes I think reviews should be done with different yarns as yarns can work different with different hooks.

I love these hooks. I have 2 sets of them. Just in case I lose 1. I put a stitch marker in the hole at the end. And then I can hook it to my project or my project bag!

I've been using my hooks for some time now and I really enjoy them. I'm a clover amour fan and the tips are very much like the clover. They do drag a little when new but that goes away. My only complaint is that the coating on the handle causes oils from the skin to accumulate and it looks dirty. Another channel reviewed these a while back and she thought the coating was rubbing off. Nope, it's just finger gunk. I really like the longer handle too, although if you're working with a holey pattern, the length could be an issue if it sticks out too far past your hand. If you're a clover fan, you'll like these dots hooks.

Loved your review. So the hole is for your stitch marker to go in. So you always have one. Also I have been using my 3.5 and 4mm constantly for over a month now and I crochet several hours everyday. No problems with the coating rubbing off. It works well with clothing cotton but not kitchen cotton, yes. Whenever I get a new hook before I use it I wipe it with a soft cloth. Gets off all the residue and dust that might be on there. Best thing though 2 of mine were damaged and they replaced them. So wonderful!

I use a small stitch holder to hold my row counter on while circular knitting , and as I crochet. The hole at the end of these hooks would be handy to use to stick on the stitch holder and keep everything in one spot when not in use

The hole on the hook is probably either to run the yarn thru it. Or it’s to hook it to your project with a attachment to it. Or maybe they think we hang our crochet hooks up. If you find out let us know.

Renaissance Wax is what I use for my hooks, needles, and even wooden and metal tools around the home. It's not cheap, but a little goes a very long way and it lasts without harming most hard surfaces. Museums use it to protect antiquities. It forms a very hard, lasting clear coat that is quite slick.

I really enjoy my set as much as my clovers and so much cheaper. I did notice a drag at first, but it wore off so I'm thinking they need a good clean/wipe first. Grabbed a set when they were $20 and a second set @ $25. They are a bargain compared to my clovers and I'm always misplacing my hooks (they turn up eventually).

I think I still like the clover hooks a bit better than the dots but the dots win for longer length and for the price of the set I think they are good hooks. I am interested to see over time if the rubbery part of the handle holds up. I hope they will come out with bigger sizes because I really like metal hooks and all my larger size hooks are plastic/resin 🙄

Have this set and have made a couple of crocheted cotton shawls with them. Don’t find them dragging along my yarn while making any pattern stitches. Furls hooks and Clover ones are still my favorite though! The hole at the end of each hook is for a stitch marker.

When you do your reviews, use cotton, acrylic, and wool. Maybe alpaca. It helps to see you use it on a wide variety of fibers.

Please do samples with different fibers. ty FYI: Brenda @ BYC Crochet from early known as Brenda the Newbie Crocheter put a light cured gel nail polish on her hooks so she wouldn't ware through the dot sleeve.
