Best news of the day! Driver is also one of my favorite games of all time. Playing Driver 1 in my second apartment and trying to figure out the tutorial. Good times. Director mode.....YES! Driver 2, Ok, a little clunky. Now my children like that one alot. Driv3r. Great game. Enjoyed the voice acting, graphics for it's time, and Director mode!!! Own on ps2 and PC. PC arguably better. Both great titles Driver PL: One of the best stories (wish the second part was a little longer because I didn't want it to end.) As always, great physics. PS2 version tops the PC version due to the lighting effects on the ps2. (also why GTA SA looks great on ps2.) Still wish you could have jumped though. Driver SF: a departure from the classic style, but soooo much fun and funny at times. Real cars for once and playing with a steering wheel on PC is just, just, driving bliss. Thanks Roxy. This title was under my radar.

I'm with you with the GTA comments. I LOVED Driver, when it released. I played it TO DEATH. In fact I remember reading an article about it, in the cafeteria at work, back in... I dunno... 2002 or something... a year or two before it released, and I wasn't disappointed with the final product.

@@DonaldVale the early development of watch dogs was supposed to be the next installment of driver, but through one thing or another it just evolved into a completely different franchise, likely because they kept moving away from actual "driver"ing and more into the hacker aspect of things, it being a driver game wouldn't make much sense.

Driver 1-3 should be remade/remaster as three games in one and improve graphics, physics and gameplay. Michael Madsen should reprise his role as Tanner but he is an older version narrating his past events similar to how Mafia 3 did how it was in the present bunny talked about the past which was the 60’s. And commandeering vehicles should return and the Wii version of Driver: parallel lines wanted stars should return with a mixture of the felony system. Both Miami and San Francisco are in Driver 1 and 3 and can be use the same city model but just change the era.

The only good thing is that UBI owns the original developer, Reflections. The negative is that Reflections haven't made much major games in 20 years. And you can bet it will be a live service game, because The Crew Motorfest didn't do that well. UBI are hoping Driver will sell more than Crew Motorfest.

The Crew Motorfest is the closest thing to San Francisco since.... It's been my go-to driving/racing game. But a return to ultimate driving physics and gameplay dedication is much anticipated.

It's not. Project HOTROD TANNER was dissolved in January. Was supposed to be a live service Driver game. What they should have done was just turned The Crew into the Driver series and really tweak the driving and handling

I was playing driver1 and 2 when I was a little kiddy winks then driver3 and stuntman.. Driver SF was the biggest disappointment for me.. no soft body physics, the ability to purposeful barrel roll your car down the road, pathetic crash physics… licensed cars so minimal damage. It felt more like a need for speed game than a “driver” game. I hope it’s nothing like SF

Driver is one of the most fun and under rated games ever. It brought the 3D world first to life with nail biting car chases just like the movie it was based on way before Grand Theft Auto. The movie director was an absolute blast and wish they would work on this more with more camera options. I'm a die hard fan that's been waiting years to hear some sort of good news about the franchise coming onto the latest consoles. Personally, they should go back to the roots of keeping Driver in the 70's, be able to customize the cars you drive and have a kick arse Film Director to boot!
