I sprayed some panels with this gun over the weekend. Got it on sale at Amazon for like $83. I’m a rank amateur so I can’t really say how good this gun is compared to others but it sprayed pretty well. Color laid down very flat. Had a little peel in my clear early on but adding a bit of reducer resolved that. Not sure that was the right thing to do but it seems to have worked.
@georgepetrillo73162 ай бұрын
It's ok to add a little reducer to the clear. Allows the clear to flow out making the orange peel disappear.

This is basically the fancy version of the R500 gun im pretty sure they use the same needles but ive seen that the d1 seems to not have as much ober spray for whatever reason but from what i seen they basically are the same gun i believe just new design i have the R500 i been tempred to get this one just for the sake of further lowering clear fog in the air as i dont have a proper booth im pretty new to painting although i been around a body shop my whole life i feel like these lvlp guns make a newbe like me be able to paint so easy with out being too out of pocket on a expensive gun and definitely alot better then starting on hplv guns the slower lvlp guns are perfect for the new diy guy or home set up like mine

I can't figure out why they are still labeling them LVLP when they require just as much if not more pressure than any other standard hvlp gun to get a decent finish. They are worth the price but there is a massive difference between this and something like the Iwata LPH400.
@seyoneford1Ай бұрын
It requires a lot of pressure but doesn't use a bunch of CFM. I have a very small cheap detailing gun. It works well at 40psi but it's very low CFM. I can paint quite a bit without my compressor coming on. With a small 20gal comp.

Thanks for the review i picked one up Amazon last week painting a honda civic with it using a 10 cfm compressor wit 20 gallon tank i agree with your review if you were planning 9n painting a whole car 10 cfm would be a minimum for a compressor it's my first lv lp gun and it uses almost as much air as my hvlp guns with a similar tip size .the fluid tip is 2 piece and broke apart at the threaded connection talking to their customer service about getting replacement needles !

for the typical DIY like me, do you think the LVLP is a better choice than a HVLP

I think that we need some more LVLP from the top companies. I do like the LVLP guns

Hello Mario, good work! The paint turned out very good. Which one would you recommend for me between the drizzle D1 and Astro euro pro 103. Im a beginner painter looking to paint my car. I have 2 compressors connected producing about 52 gallons and 9.5scfm @90 + 4.5@ 90. the kobalt quiet tech plus 230v cambel hausfeideld dual stage hot dog compressor. I will be painting in my own garage and plan to cut and buff afterwards. Will be using either fc710 or 720 in seattle weather. Thank you in advance for your advice.

@@kesu90 I would go with the LVLP Drizzle. I want to learn how to connect compressor like that good job. Which ever clear you choose just make sure you use the correct hardener for the temperature.

Hi Mario, another interesting video with lots of info for us DIY painters as boy do I need it😅the Drizzle did a good job on the base and clear and as you said there isn't much between this gun and a top end one when it comes to the finish but I wonder how it will hold up long term but I guess it's an ideal gun for the home user👌 There seems to be a lot of new guns coming out lately and most seem to be from China with all these weird and wonderful names but I suspect they are mostly based on the R500 setup and it's just the gun body that have different designs, I have the original RongPeng R500 which I am told is what all these guns are based on but that's not a bad thing as my R500 is pretty good for the price🤔 Ok I better stop as I'm rambling as usual🤦♂😁👍John UK

Hey John, thanks 😀 I’ve never heard that before about the R500 it’s worth looking into. And that’s one thing I forgot to mention the longevity. That’s the real difference.

That's what I was told that most of these guns that are coming out now are based on the R500 setup then rebranded for other companies🤔👍
@toycoma984 ай бұрын
Yes, the Drizzle, A610, YT160 are the new version of R500. I had the A610 and didn't like it. The R500 uses an adjustable oring on the trigger valve which is smoother, the A610 uses a plastic bushing. I returned the A610. I like the old version better. I have the Summit Racing lvlp and Eastwood LT100. They all have interchangeable needle set

This trash isn't LVLP, it's 10+ CFM and lays on half the material as other similar guns. If THIS is LVLP then a Prolite with the TE20 cap is not only also LVLP but twice as efficient
@lazygamer97254 ай бұрын
10+cfm?
@lazygamer97254 ай бұрын
Lvlp shouldn't be that high.. I think it's modeled after a r500.. eastwood lt100 same. But I think the lt100 says like 4.3cfm I can't remember but that's big difference
@mariopaintclass60914 ай бұрын
I get what you’re saying. The cfm could be lower for sure. At the end of the day tho this gun is still compatible with a 8 gallon compressor which is pretty small. This is one reason I mentioned in my video don’t buy every gun I review, buy what works best for your DIY setup at home. I don’t make these guns I just review them.
@BryanMiranda964 ай бұрын
@@mariopaintclass6091 that's the things man, most guns would do better than this, they'd do the job so much faster that they'd use substantially less Air. If this gun works with an 8 gallon compressor then a Sagola 4600 is good with an 8 gallon compressor. A 4600 is done with the job in the time this gun is 1/4 the way through
