These guys are suppose to be billionaires, but as usual someone wants to take advantage of the young guys back in the day and steal all that they have worked for

Ricky bell is so underrated. he should of sang lead. he didn't really get a chance to shine until heartbreak/bbd. he hits all the high notes. Ralph is versatile, johnny came with strong vocals that gave the group the mature edge it needed.

TeeTeeTooSweet you sound dumb as hell. He was the first lead singer. They had Ralph sing lead cause he was a MJ copycat not cause he was the best vocally. Ricky didn't want to have a solo career although he did an album. He was all about the team. And for the record he did sing ALOT on the Home Again album and the One Love. You Ralph fanatics are funny as hell! Bye

Yup. I think every boyband had like a "Bobby Brown" type badboy. Even with The Backstreet Boys in 2001 with AJ, he missed some interviews when he was dealing with his drug and alcohol issues and they had to lie. New kids had Donnie Wahlberg, Take That had Robbie Williams, etc.

Nah you wrong, Bobby said himself that he wanted to be the lead singer, and he didn't leave he was voted out!!!
@NOLAsoulchild
@NOLAsoulchild 8 жыл бұрын
Nah, Bobby saying he wasn't the leader of the group like he planned, didn't mean he wanted to be Ralph...IMO...To me, it meant he wanted to be the leader, period. They stayed doing bubble gum music that he couldn't continue to do. The sequins that they wore, the colorful clothes, certain songs they did... He had no say so. MCA was centered on Ralph as the lead singer, of course, but Ralph was a puppet like the rest of em & Bobby no longer wanted to be apart of that. Had nothing to do with wanted to be Ralph, he wanted to be an artist and it just wasn't allowed. Being jealous of someone breeds envy, and Bobby couldn't have been that jealous or envious of Ralph, seeing as though they were the tightest of em all...Even after he initially left the group, as Ralph always put during the 30th anniversary tour. Whether he was voted out or kicked out, ain't no way he would've stayed long enough to do the "Under The Blue Moon" record... There's a big difference in that record & the King of Stage record... Two totally different styles... And that's why he dipped

+NOLA soulchild ...well I personally use to talk too" Mike" and that's the story I got from him....Bobby wanted the spotlight on him and they wasn't having it!
@NOLAsoulchild
@NOLAsoulchild 8 жыл бұрын
+Will Chill You're right, but, I recall Mike, saying that onstage in the mid 80's, he felt like Bobby felt like the audience was feeling everybody, but they was really feeling him, so he'd strip, hump speakers and all that, but Mike also said that they were too young to realize he was turning into his "Bobby" persona, and growing out of their kiddy image and turning into the superstar he eventually became. All of them wanted to keep going with the flow of doing what they were told to maintain a certain image, and he was the only one supposedly messing it up because he didn't wanna keep wearing what they told them to wear and sing what other ppl wanted them to sing. He wasn't messing it up, he was just the first to rebel against it. Still, I don't believe he was trying to be Ralph because, no disrespect to Ralph bc that's my dude too, but Ralph was, and still is, the least successful of em all... And, in no way am I trying discredit Ralph or his accomplishments, but he only have but a few songs I actually like, but Bobby, BBD and even Johnny have more songs and solo performances that are classics... Even here in 2016, Bobby still has solo concerts, so does BBD, so does Johnny... You'll only see Ralph in New Edition...

@NOLAsoulchild People were jealous of Ralph, but no one was jealous of bad boy Bobby (Bobby felt he had to step it up further because of all the attention Ralph was gettin). Thats what happens when you're lead singer. When Home Again came out in 1996 (when the group were well into their late 20s), everyone had their own ego trips, not just Bobby. Fame is very pricey when you're young (look what happned to Musical Youth, Frankie Lymon, some of the Sylvers, and The Boys).

soulchildsacomin ..... it wasn't about being a lead singer in the group.... Bobby and Ralph were best friends and still are ...Bobby was not made to to be in a group and he admitted that himself.... like Michael Jackson hid destiny was meant to be solo.... way too much talent and energy to be confined to a group.... some people are cut from a different fabric such as him which is why they clashed.

Bobby Brown must have done something terrible for him not to make this appearance, but New Edition's management should have done a better job of covering it up. Michael Bivins starts laughing as he says "he's sick." There are several videos up of New Edition appearances from this period(1984/1985) and B.Brown is in some of them and absent from others. Videos like this REALLY show how much of a trouble-maker Bobby was and forecasted the chaos that stuck to him for about a 15-year period
