If you are going to give commentary on another culture's music you should atleast have the courtesy to try to understand the context of the song. This short-sighted reaction only brings great shame upon you both! THIS IS ONE OF THE GREATEST SONGS OF OUR TIME. THE POINT OF THE SONG HAS ZERO TO DO WITH RAIN.

I don't think you listened to the lyrics right. "Can you stand the rain?", "Can you weather a storm?" This means can you go through hard times in your relationship without wanting to leave because things are not always sunny and beautiful.

#1. It is song about good days and bad days.... everyone loves the good days but can you stand the bad days!!! #2. Your opinion is your opinion but This song is a classic!!💯 ..... HISTORY: This song was released in the 1980s. It is still a heavy played and requested song in the present day!!! This song was huge R&B hit for New Edition! #3. New Edition is the only group (R&B and choreography) in the history to separate and be as successful as solo artists as they were in the group....Bobby Brown, Johnny Gill, Ralph Tresvant, and Bell Biv Devoe ( Ricky Bell, Mike Bivins, Ronnie Devoe). #4. Early hip hop rappers like Run DMC, & LL Cool J, had to tour under NEW Edition because rap was fairly new and promoters did not want to allow rappers as the headliners in Concerts... Also, stars like Madonna toured under New Edition before she became too famous in the early 1980s!! #5. New Edition has been together for over 40 years!! When they debuted in the early 80s, they knocked Michael Jackson Thriller album out of # 1....#6. New Edition is the last bridge between the Old generations artists vs the New generations artists! They have toured with Rick James, been on stage with Michael Jackson and Prince!!! They have been on many TV shows, movies and soundtracks!!! #7... Finally, show some respect!! It is easy to talk about something you know nothing about!! I can talk about how fked your hair is but I am not!!! Again the song is a classic!! It sold millions and it is still being listened to in today's time!! Therefore, your opinion is just like your hair, fked up!!!!!!

As everyone else has said, the lyrics explain everything in damn near every line 😂. It’s a metaphor and even as a young child, I knew what the rain and weathering the storm meant. I’ll never forget my first boyfriend singing me the lyrics, “girl to make it last, I’ll do whatever needs to be done.” I think you missed the mark on this one. You don’t have to love it and honesty is appreciated but to call this song lousy and then insult Americans is a bit dramatic to me. This song is a classic in the black community in particular, but globally as well, and it’s stood the test of time. Going to see them live next month! Cant wait 😂

Yes but understand the song the message of the song. Some reaction people research the group and knowledge of the song. Most importantly why this song was a hit. I don't expect everyone to like a song but it's not your cup of tea fine they did not critique this song very well. How can you say it stinks or lousy and offer no reason- was it the lyrics, the singers or chorus the song writing? If a song was a major hit explore why before you critique and it's still ok and say you didn't like the song because----.

The Temptations I wish that it would rain, Madonna Rain, Ann Peebles I Can't Stand The Rain, The Carpenters Rainy Days and Mondays, BJ Thomas Raindrops Keep falling on My Head, CCR Have You Ever Seen the Rain, Blind Melon No Rain, Willie Nelson Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain, Brooke Benton A Rainy Night in Georgia, The Dramatics I Want to Go Outside in the Rain. I can imagine that they have ran across a few of these songs in their reactions and probably did not make say anything about being stinking. They could have simply said that it was not for them.

I like this song. You two clearly didn’t understand the meaning. It had multiple meanings. First the video being about the group surviving the loss of Bobby Brown going solo. Second the actual song being about relationship that is a hitting rocky path. I’m unsubbing this channel as you have insulted my country and my culture.
