Are you excited about these all-electric campers or are ranges still too short for proper outings?
@tlouiseallen93023 жыл бұрын
The range is still so very limited. But, I think if they put their brains in overdrive they should be able to figure out how to charge your vehicle while you drive or from your own solar charger system 🧐🤔🤨🙏🏼🖖🏼
@guaposneeze3 жыл бұрын
I think a camper is one of the only use cases where on-vehicle solar is efficient enough to really make a difference in range with current technology. It might take *weeks* to fully charge a battery from 0% with just roof panels. But you can drive the full range to get to the campsite, then leave it charging in the sun for a week while you camp out and enjoy the fresh air, and have at least enough range to get to the nearest charger in town when you want to go home.

They should use the driving cabin has dual purpose one the captain seats that swivel forward can be hey backboard or bed board For your back saving space and sleeping room, the rest of the cabin forward can be used for leisurely activities, shower, cookingetc… and if you want you could always convert the front driving cabin into a dining area why do you always omit Using the drive-in cabin as additional space? Not just about mile range, but number of days/nights you can run appliances inside (including AC) before you need to charge. And.. in the case of Vans and RV, not using the rooftop solar seems a major miss. Also, What I am surprised to learn is that many of these vans still have and need 12v batteries and often those batteries are not even Lithium. I think solid state batteries will the major game changer.

Problem is loading them down and adding weight of supplies will severely limit range. Would be nice to have incorporated solar panels to charge house battery and then car battery when that's full. Or using up to a certain percentage of the vehicle battery to run appliances.

I would wait on buying any of these until the battery tech improves. RAM is making their 2025 electric truck to have a 500 mile range. To me that is the territory of where I would want an electric RV to have. Imagine driving into the woods in a vehicle that only has a 100-150 mile range and cannot be refueled with gas. That being said, when this tech really does improve after these things have been out a few years and competing with each other, it will become quite ideal for such applications. Imagine one of these with a 1000 mile range. Being able to carry around that much electricity with you will allow you to do some interesting things anywhere you choose to take it.

@stephscrf2303 жыл бұрын
@@leodejongful how bout you do your research about how much coal it takes to power a charging station? How about you research how long these solar panels actually last, and where they and the windmills that breakdown end up. Here’s one for you, how many mountain sides will be blown to smitherines just to make the batteries that power electric cars. Do your homework before you tell me to be more progressive, and quit shoving your expensive agenda down everyone’s throat. Electric, wind, and solar is not more planet friendly. Nothing is.

@@stephscrf230 just so you know, you can charge an electric car anywhere not just at a charging station. You just need an outlet. Also, you can choose what kind of electricity you are using to charge the ev with if you get a home charger. If you charge at a charging station in WA, the electricity comes from hydroelectric power not coal.

Those ranges are 100% incorrect. With #8 you've taken the km's, written down they were miles and then converted that back into km's. A Nissan with 40Kwh battery will get 180-190km of range.
