Agree about St. Vincent, liked her earlier stuff, but there was always too much of a hint of the NY dilettante, style over substance, 'I'm weird me' about her. This album feels more genuine and is excellent. A quick whizz through Gift's Momentary Presence, sounds excellent, would love to hear them live with more ballsy vocals, I know that's anti shoegaze, but these songs are obviously written to be played live, with lots of 'spotlight on the singer moments', ala a more Krautrock Simple Minds. Dune is pure Gary Numan Pleasure Principal era to my ears. Looking forward to a proper listen. Ditto Dear Deer, spikey synth pop not afraid of some finger in the ribs guitars, nice, or is it Nice (the place? Again, would be good to see live. National Milk Bars' Electro / Cute opening track, Alibi and Cyfri Colomennod sound amazing, the rest seems a bit Eurovision, / Euro Disco, not my (hand)bag, but I'll give it a chance. It's Friday night. I'm home, I'm the only one up and I'm sober as a judge, but I feel like whigging out to this stuff. Goodbye early night. Cheers
