Back in the day, we would go to the Delaware Bay Fortescue nj, and around 9 in the morning, they would start biting shedder crabs. It was the bait with a piece of squid we would throw back 4 lbers or less, only keep the tide runners. I would love to see it again, but actually, they don't know much about they spawning habits of the weakie. One day, they just disappeared great video. I'm glad you found them

Agree with you dude; back in the day when I was a kid in the early-mid 80's, we used to catch them on the coastline of CT with sandworms before they just disappeared.

Very enjoyable video to watch , beautiful area . I checked it out a couple of times over the years. I am guessing they didn't return to that spot the following year. However, I would bet they will be someplace in relatively close proximity to that area. Under the same conditions.

As a speckled trout angler down south, it’s a dream of mine to catch their northern cousins.

I could remember when I was a kid back in the early 80's there used to be football field sized schools of shad everywhere up here in Buzzards bay. And remember how beautiful these Weakfish where! Although we used to call them Squeteagues We caught a few but were rare. Mostly Blue fish and Striped Bass. Never forget the sight of hundreds of shad jumping out of the water running away from the Bluefish!! Good times!!
