Eastman's Fishing Fleet in Seabrook New Hampshire deserves a shout out! They are absolutely killing it this winter and are putting up consistent catches of haddock, pollack, and redfish.

I personally think Maine has a pretty good native striper population. We catch a couple smelt fishing every year in January on the ice. What ya think of that

Every if not nearly nearly tidal river in the northeast that doesn't freeze solid in the winter has a population of some size of wintering-over striped bass in it. Additionally, there is a robust striped bass population in Canada so you have fish from the north and south mixing in Maine waters.

The Fisherman Magazine caught them through the ice smelt fishing in the Kennebec River several miles up
