I’d like to know how this so called conciliatory officer; who has all of the answers & doesn’t want to take sides; would respond if this racist ignorant poor excuse for a neighbor told him or his child that he would shoot them if they came on his property. It’s this type of disregard for valid concerns that leads to further intimidation, violence & loss of life. Clearly the officers who are present have no intention of holding this guy responsible for his behavior, however, if the family of the children that he threatened decided to retaliate, action would be swift. Failure to intervene when a threat has been made is a cosign to crime & if anything else happens to this child or his family as a result of the failure of these officers to take action, they ought to be held accountable legally & be relieved of their duties immediately.

You’re asking a person not in full possession of his faculties to engage this child’s grandparent about being on his lawn. In theory, that is what he should have done in the first place, but you forgot or ignored that the grandmother has had challenges with the neighbor’s conduct as well & it’s clear that she is trying to be as peaceful as possible. Why should the neighbors befriend a many who is hostile towards them? Why couldn’t the older neighbors extend themselves to them. Yes seniors can get scared, but scared of a 9 y/o & a 7 y/o playing? Jesus is a God of justice. He does not look the other way when an offense has been made. He is a God of accountability. There is absolutely no excuse for the neighbor’s threat or did you forget that a young Black man almost lost his life when seeking assistance at the home of a community member who shot him without fully hearing why he approached his door?
