This song so reminds me of my dearly departed wife. She had a magic/sprite air about her that was infectious. She never met a stranger. I'd watch her strolling the yard in her rob on a Saturday morning sipping a cup of coffee cat on her the left, dog on her right. Pure poetry in motion. Thirteen years later I still bask in the glow from her. A treasured memory to be sure...

For a brief moment in the 60s, this group was musically transcendent. The harmonies, the reliance on the base guitar. No one, before or since, has ever sounded like them. Or even attempted to do so. This particular song is so darn interesting. The ending is a clarion call to the worship of love. Who ever ended a song like that?

Lyrics In my most secure moments, I still can't believe I'm spending those moments with you And the ground I am walking, the air that I breathe Are shared at those moments with you You love for real, you show the feel Of everything that touches you In the songs I've been singing, quite often a phrase Comes close to the feeling of you But I never suspected that one of those days The wish of a song would come true You love for real, you show the feel Of everything that touches you You are of gracefulness, you are of happiness You are what I would guess to be most like What I've been singing of Love, love, love, love In the songs I've been singing, quite often a phrase Comes close to the feeling of you But I never suspected that one of those days The wish of a song would come true You love for real, you show the feel Of everything that touches you Love, love, love, love Everything is love, love Love, love, love, love Love, love, love, love Love, love Everything is love, love Love, love, love, love Love, love, love, love Love, love Everything is love, love Love, love, love, love Love, love, love, love Love, love Source: Musixmatch Songwriters: Terry Kirkman

@@bruschmidt9943 Unfortunately, the record company required them to use studio musicians so they'd record it quickly. But if you hear them play live (tons of concert footage on KZbin) you can see they were excellent musicians. Ted Bluechel was a good drummer, and he also wrote some great songs.

This video is really timeless and hypnotic. Their expressions and groove while each is singing is, to me, showing they do honestly enjoy and are serious about their music. It also gives us all a glimpse back in time when songwriting and performing were truly the heart n soul of that era's music. Am lucky to have been a young kid growing up listening to these guys and many others during those times and cherish ( no pun intended) those years greatly.

This song is incredibly complex and multitracked out the wazoo. How in the hell do you even write something like this. They must’ve had a team of 25 engineers to figure this shit out.
@bruschmidt9943
@bruschmidt9943 Жыл бұрын
Terry Kirkman, the lead singer with sideburns & beige suit wrote the song. I have a feeling you're correct on multi-tracking. It sounded like much more than 6 guys could've sung on stage. He is 83 years old today in Mar 2023.

Nonsense. The only similarity is that they all have folk roots. Donovan didn't invent that kind of finger-picking and the songs sound nothing alike. The Association were already playing electrified folk before the Byrds even formed.
