I made a couple of mistakes in this. I said DFSK wrong. Its DFSK not DFCK. And what I thought was a new look Maxus MIFA9 was a new MIFA7 model.

Saw a Maxus minibus on the road near where I work, in Churt, Surrey - a literal breath of fresh air! We need more of such vehicles!

I wonder why Canoo has a UK flag on it. They’re partly funded by Saudi money and the rest is by splitting their shares. They need money and a lot of it, in order to make the vehicle. But they need to make and deliver the vehicle to bank working capital. Anyone see where that is going? They’re based in three different US states, one for design, one for research and one supposedly for manufacture. Their two head honchos met, while working for Faraday Futures. But apparently working for a company, that trod the waters of bankruptcy, while reached for funds of other people’s money. Taught them one thing, namely, if you continue to promise much and making little to nothing of anything. There’s enough suckers out there with money to throw away, that the people at the top, can gather quite a bit money over a few years, so they can start anew with a slightly different named company and the merry-go-round goes round. Both honchos have left and the company’s ownership, has gone through two investment companies, is being investigated by US Securities & Exchange. In 2021 Canoo was supposed to start production in a fourth US state but later pulled the plug. And later announced moving its HQ to a fifth U.S. state. To date, Canoo appears to have deliver just 22 vehicles. In March 2024 Canoo bought Arrival assets, after it had gone but. This seems to be a modern retelling of, The King’s New Clothes. Canoo is sinking so far, it’ll be a submarine soon.

At least one of them was right hand drive too. They're doing the same as Arrival did....too many products and variations without focusing on getting the first model into production.

I would certainly consider a Maxus, either as a camper or a pickup truck for which a camper can be added separately.
@dcvariousvids80827 ай бұрын
The EV80 has a real world summer range of less than 110mi, the T90EV a summer range of perhaps 130mi and the eDeliver3 a summer range of maybe 120mi. And all before you load any weight in them. Efficiency per kWh… that’s an expensive way to travel.

Great video well edited and presented. Being a lay person regarding HGV and light van products I am seeing however that once a payload is in these vehicles the battery range is greatly reduced, is that correct?
@GoGreenAutos7 ай бұрын
Weight will affect efficiency, but nowhere near as much as most people think and gets reported. I've done a couple of videos on this, see kzbin.info/www/bejne/hJbYkJiiZ56hfc0si=UpcoKfg49k9F_wkN and kzbin.info/www/bejne/e6eXoGB6ftRrh7csi=o_K-2AZ_LQJWJaUy where I've loaded electric vans to almost the maximum payload and the difference was negligible. (6 miles range loss in the Kangoo and 13 miles in the Toyota).
@hughmarcus17 ай бұрын
The main issue for electric LCVs is reduced payload. The additional weight of the batteries means less cargo can be carried

Thanks for the coverage, I keep my eye out for any potential small EV vans I could use for a camper; my ENV200 just doesn't have the range and my '87 VW kombi, while very cute, but dirty and expensive to run and maintain. I was hoping Ford would have their new eTransit Custom there but I didn't see it on your video; did you see or hear any sign of it? It was supposed to be here in NZ already but I haven't even heard of it hitting Britain yet. Thanks a bunch.

I didnt think Canoo were coming to Europe ... surprised to see them there. Did they comment at all on that?
@GoGreenAutos7 ай бұрын
No, I didn't get to speak to them as they were too busy. They were probably here to collect the stuff from the Arrival buildings in Banbury!

I just messaged Canoo’s support email and they said ‘Rick, I believe it was more of an exploration visit to test the waters. It makes sense, but there haven’t been any announcements on timing. Jon’ So it seems they are hoping to come to the EU market

Renault really should step up the kWh and CCS speed on their vans.

Great to see so many Evs on show, however I still see manufactures making same small battery mistakes, 40/50/60 configuration, you won't be charging to 100% because the last 10% takes ages, you won't be driving below 10% without wearing a nappy, so you now have only 80% available range. Then we have the good old British winter, and you wonder why so many drivers are sending them back!!! And before you say I am against Evs, I think they are amazing but manufacturers need to stop ripping us off and stop thinking we'll spend £30,000+ on something thats just not practical

I would have thought emphasising Canoo and help push it's great products should be a priority. Most of the others were just EV versions of the ICE cars. Cheap conversions without any real innovation.
