Gonna be real, I’m scared. I’m 19 and ftm and just started transitioning a few months ago. I’m the happiest I’ve ever been, and the thought of this joy being in jeopardy scares me. My state already denies GAC for minors, and like you said, the idea of pushing the envelope on age for GAC at the federal level scares the shit out of me. Thanks for spreading knowledge of the recent developments, I’m someone who gets easily overwhelmed when trying to educate myself politically, so content like this really helps me. Sorry for rambling, just want to emphasize how much I appreciate your videos. Thank you.

I’m a trans man. I’ve just been living my life quietly for the past 20 years, and I really am deeply disappointed in our fellow Americans who clearly chose the wrong path. It’s hard to know what to say. I don’t know what my life is going to look like when or if they’ll push the agenda of no gender affirmative care for anyone. I’m clear on one thing though that it won’t change who and what I am if that’s what they’re getting at. This is a solid part of me that won’t be moved, and truly exists no matter how other people disagree with it. LGBTQ+ is a part of the natural human condition. You can try to legislate it out of existence or even worse, but it won’t be moved as well. We are who we are, period. It’s not up for debate, and people need stop being arrogant about what they think is the right way to be a human being.

We’re just people with feelings, with passions and desires, with convictions and values, with hopes and dreams. People like Buck Angel insisted on the binary gender concept. They promoted very hard to be the only truly trans experience and made that narrative. Now they got a pushback. They thought that identifying in the binary makes them fit into the binary. But the gender binary concept means the two binary sexes. According to one's physical sex. Not the binary gender positions by identifying with that.

The 19 age requirement comes from the age requirements within Medicaid and Medicare. It wasn't just picked out of thin air.

I've been apprehensive about turning 20 this year, but now I guess I'm just praying this stuff doesn't stop me from getting my hormones in the three months I have to go... I don't know how much of this will get through, I don't want to catastrophize, but I also don't want to ignore this with blind optimism. If this goes into effect I know a lot of kids in our community are going to suffer

I'm trans soon to be 48 years old, and this is devastating to hear/go through. I have a few online communities/support groups I belong to and we're all gathering resources for the younger people who need help where I live. I'm also learning who my true friends are and aren't when it comes down to this, and I'm grateful to have those few friends; and hope that everyone has at least one person to confide in and protect them no matter what happens. Stay safe out there, and don't "out" anyone who doesn't want to be out. I had someone on the city bus be "loud and proud" and outed me in the process, which is all fine and good, but now it's just too risky. People should need to be 21 but I think the reason 19 is to make sure they graduate high school because it is a known social phenomenon that spreads especially in girls groups. I see absolutely nothing wrong with people 21 and under having to wait to make such a huge choice about their future.

This is pretty long winded so I do apologize in advance. I think something needed to change Aydian. I'm not from the USA, but from an allie country. Please hear me out... Many of us non-trans have been watching a cancel culture emerge from what some consider trans radicals who have been behaving badly, especially on social media, making all the good trans people out their seem crazy. We can't blame just the right wing groups this time. If people push too far left the right wingers will push even harder. The gender affirming care model of the transition programmes is not approved of by many countries psychological associations. We still have transition programmes in our countries, just not specifically the gender affirming care model you have in the U.S. I'm gay, not trans and although I'm concerned about Trumps connections with right wing Christian evangelist. We may be jumping the gun a bit and panicking for no reason. I don't like what Trumps doing to your passports though, or his military trans ban. Maybe a trans and gay level headed lobby group is needed to make contact with Trump and try and work with his team to bring about some balance. Many of us gays still support trans people like you. Just let's see how far he takes this. If Trump turns into a little orange Dresden Hitler, all the trans people can move to Australia or New Zealand we're pretty trans friendly in the bigger cities. 😊
