Anju a dog is a big responsibility for all members of the family. What worries me is how will you manage when you have to travel to India on a vacation. I can understand Santosh's hesitation. A dog requires daily walks, regular visits to the vet, lots of love & disciplining too. He becomes a member of the family. Hope Khushi & Chungsi understand all this. Eventually Anju it will be your responsibility as you are home most of the time. One big plus point is that you have a nice back yard for it to play in. What breed is it? I love dogs. They love unconditionally & are very loyal.

There are pet minders and people leave their pets with them when they go on holidays. They charge on daily basis and people leave their pets even for a month or so when they can go abroad.

Anju a dog is a big responsibility. The puppy needs to get trained so it learns to obey which is very important.Make sure you get it used to the groomers salon once a month or you will land up with a back problem once the dog gets big he will not accept the groomers salon. Yes, stain & odor eliminator spray is a must on hand as they tend to pee in the same place. Its better to start also with a pee pad near the back door so slowly you can lead him outdoors to the backyard.Chungsi and Khushi need to help you with the dog as its a 24/7 job.After you feed them they have to be walked or else they will mess the house.Also take care of the shoes and slippers as the puppy will chew and destroy stuff especially your wood furniture.Take care & stay blessed.

Congrats on the new addition, Trust me you will all fall so much in love with the little one and will be showering all the love and attention, We brought in a 4 week kitten into our home four years ago and she has taken over our lives. But at the same time she showers us with so much love and has been the best thing for all of us especially during the two years of COVID lockdown, work from home, online studies for kids etc. So enjoy your little one and learn how to train them to pee either outside or in a litter box and not all over the house and trust me they train way too fast.

It's a huge responsibility Anju... Because they are like another kid... You have to take care of him like your own baby... He should be allowed everywhere in your house including the bed and sofas , if you are ready for that responsibility please then only take the puppy Otherwise please do not take .. Because once they came to your home they recognise you as their parents after sometime if you want to leave them it's very hard for them to understand. Congratulations. 2 weeks before I brought home a Caboodle we named him Archie . Everyone other than me was hesitant to get a puppy doe to our busy schedule. You won’t he stole everyone s heart , got potty trained from next day , he is a tension reliever, no one sits with phone for long hours . I agree it’s a big responsibility . He do his bitty on fake grass pad .

Anju puppy is a very big commitment.You will get to know about it slowly.I have an Australian Labradoodle.She’s is 3 yrs old.If you going to Kerala you would need to find a good care taker or any friends who can take care of it as we don’t have family like in India.Be prepared for all of it.Get a good insurance which covers life long protection.Be ready to clear her poops and everything.

A quick tip. You will want to buy a ‘Stain & Odor Eliminator’ spray to spray after you cleanup Brownie’s pee or he will keep peeing in the same place. The eliminator will remove the odor and will train him to pee on the pee pad or outside instead of on the same spot over and over again. 😊 The one that I would use for my dog, before she was trained to pee outside, is called ‘Rocco & Roxie Stain & Odor Eliminator’. I am from the USA and bought it off of amazon. You might get the same or something pretty close on Amazon UK.

All the best Anju. We have a dog and live him to pieces. I would really recommend take 1-2 days to fully research in how to take care of puppies. Dont be surprised to feel overwhelmed and upset especially in tge forst few days. Its exactly as you said bringing a baby home. Waking up at night for potty; taking care of mess, figuring out food routine, . Set a discipline and stick to it even if it feel difficult, thats the key! I am sure you would be wonderful dog pawrents, no doubt about it. Santhosh will become the closest buddy to puppy, mark my words❤

Hi guys 😊merry Christmas 🎉the pupp is very very cute.I too gifted my self a puppy in 2022 I named him scooby.he is not just a pupp he is my everything I love him the most.he is always by my side in my good and bad times he goes everywhere along with us (me and my husband)since the day we got him to our life we have never left him alone.they just know how to love❤few tips - 1-when ever the pupp pees on the floor put the pad on the pee so it can absorb it and later pupp can smell the pee and can pee on pad it self.-2 -make him/her drink lots of water.3-pupp is just like a baby they cry when sad no sugar or salt for them.I let him play free he jumps on bed ,sofa anywhere he wants to go I never stop him. 4 -try to keep the floor clean as they put everything in mouth. 5-outdoor walk is must twice or thrice a day. 6-in meal please do include vegetable's just love the puppy like you love you kids 🙏🤗animals are best they also help you relief the stress.lots of love to all of you❤️❤️

Mans best friend. How much did you pay for it??? But Its a HUGE commitment!! After the initial euphoria kids will find it cumbersome to take it for its daily walks esp in harsh weather. Hope it does not eventually land on Santhosh's head...Woof! Woof!!

Please take time to read a lot of resources! Thats my main request. Things you would need on top of what you got-1. Potty training spray so puppy dont smell same place and pee at home. 2. Also there are sprays like bitter apple spray( in US,please check for equivalent) that you can spray on furniture edges, indoor plants,or any area puppy tend to chew . 3. On top of crate, i would also suggest play pen/ dog gate so you can restrict the movement. They say initially give access to only a very small space , may be just one room, block access to other room, potty train to teach he should pee, poop in that room, then slowly 1 room at a time, you can introduce in many weeks/ months. Don’t give access to entire house , that will take longer for potty training. - take him out every 2 hours or so for potty break to build habit. - read read and read so you will have a head-start on all the initial challenges. As i mentioned in previous comments, you will be awesome parents if you can get through the first 1 month of challenges and handle them! Wish you all the very best- another dog mom.
