I think instead of all the cloths options in the beginning of the game it would have been cool to have cloths recipes bought from Jel like we do with other things. I feel like there is a lack of progression with him that all the other characters have and he is just the premium shop vendor. I love Jel and would LOVE to have more to do with him.

If they gave us crafted clothing, it would have to be rather plain and simple stuff. Because otherwise, what would they sell in the shop? Like, the difference between a shift dress and a lace covered frilly dress. Shop items would need to have fancy patterns, lace and feathers ect, to make them stand out and be worth buying. While crafted items would need to be simple and dare I say it, a little boring. But I'm ok with that, since some of my most loved items in mmo games are actually the gray and white quality gear lol.

I really like simple clothing items, especially if you can mix and match the ones you like. Definitely not expecting to get some very detailed designs for free items, even something simple would be nice!!

@@Esravei yep. I usually compare stuff like this... Crafted stuff is basic, no frills or glowy bits or spikes. Quest items can be a little better, add velvet and metals. Dungeon gear gets fancier, add more metal adornments and gems. RAID gets the addition of glowy bits PvP stuff gets spikes (lol) And cash shop stuff has patterns, lacy overlays, metallic threads, shimmery stuff etc. Know we don't have PvP in Palia (thank the dragon) or RAIDs even. But the list still works I think. (You only get a 'burlap sack dress' for dressing up lol)

They've created this beautiful world, and they should lean into that to create a place someone just wants to be in. Events and quests are great, but a lot of lifespan can be given to the game if it provides a space to live. Add a bench you can sit on with a view. Relax floating down a river or on a floatie in Coral Bay. More than anything, give reasons for the players to go to the great town and just hang out there, rather than only running in and out with some task. Some of these ideas are extensive adds, but some are probably quite simple (like a bench for sitting). Small things could go a long way.

I honestly agree. It’s one of those games you can just keep open and relax with. I think they need to lean into that more. Let us sit in places. There are so many benches with no butts on!

I think swimming is the biggest thing they could add in the short term. It would make the game feel much more finished and open without the outdated fade to black if you step into more than ankle deep water. They also need to focus on polish, it feels like a phone game sometimes with its horrible waterfall animations, amongst other things. Professions like archaeology could also add another dimension to the game. No combat is great, but it begins to make clear the reasons why games with it are so successful. Group content is also lacking to the point where it makes me wonder why it's an online game at all. Showing off your house is cool, but that's about where it stops. A lot of people seem to have rose tinted glasses when it comes to this game and I'm not sure why, constructive criticism is what makes budding online games great. Don't be afraid to speak up for what you want.

I agree that it doesn't feel like there's much to do with people considering it's intended to be a social game. Fishing and hunting feel rather uninteractive when playing alongside people. When I saw this game for the very first time I imagined being able to build a village in a world with people and while I recognize now that this isn't within the scope of Palia, it does make me a bit sad. I don't have the solutions but I'm curious to see if they'll add more things to do together. Overall, I'm still enjoying the game though!

To be completely fair it's still in its closed beta stages where we haven't seen everything this game has to offer yet closed betas aren't meant to be packed full of content it's meant to see where they can improve things and catch any game breaking bugs before full release. @@Voltage256 While it's true that a live service game in beta can evolve, it's nearly at its 1.0 release. At this stage, their open and closed betas serve as stress tests and interest gauges. If I had to guess, what we see is what we get. There likely won't be much if any fresh content on release, especially since they said there would be no more character wipes. What they've made has a good foundation for adding things, it's just slightly concerning what little content there is after years of development, especially in the realms that they're marketing the game, namely its social elements. The only thing I've seen mentioned for release is more character customization options. Honestly, the game lacks the polish that many are praising, and I think it's due to the casual audience it's attracted. Not to get too hung up on the waterfall and lack of swimming, but it may be a peek behind the curtain at the backend and competence of the developers given the fact they're using Unreal Engine. Swimming was in PS1 games, and blacking out after stepping in water mixed with invisible walls does not make me hopeful. I pray to be proven wrong, my hype has kinda been dashed though lol. @@Rauzwel I think its already promising that they've already said that they will continue to add more and more stuff and characters to the game over time hence me saying that I think we haven't even seen half of what the game has to offer yet I think what we're seeing is the bare bones of the game which are what closed betas are meant to show, just the bare bones. The game currently has many vacant places that are possibly hints to future stuff like we're going to see soon like the empty barn for example. I don't think this is a what we see is what we get situation so yeah I agree and pray that you are wrong to bc if this is all they have to offer for this amazing world filled with rich opportunities the game won't even last a year lol.

I assume they already have plans for it, but I would like to see some kind of ranching system. Some way to get milk and eggs that doesn't require you to buy them. I'd also like to see some kind of system where you can prep items in advance for advanced recipes. I don't play with friends (since I have no friends who play this style of game), and it looks like the mid and advanced recopies are specific toward multi-player.

I also don't play with others so this would help a lot I know many streamers have discord servers where people could find someone to play with but not everyone is comfortable playing with strangers without getting to know them at least a little bit. and then you still need to coordinate times and stuff and that's the opposite of cozy and enjoyable to me 😅

Palia hit the cozy game community in many right spots - Art style is charming and friendly, not too cartoony or realistic, just enough to fall into - The Third-person POV help the player see their world in closer view, lot of cozy game use top-down POV which has nothing wrong but sometimes you just wanna get closer to the world you are in - Gameplay is simple enough while having deep complexity making it not boring and have reason to explore/learn This game is very very promising and i have been enjoying it non stop. I’m finding Palia weirdly non social despite it being a cosy MMO. They need to add a quest to highlight the emote key - I had to randomly run through the keyboard to find it along with the X unequip key. Also I think there needs to be a /say option, where you can speak to other players within a small radius without being partied with them. I’ve wanted to say something to people doing a glowing tree chop or rare kill but it’s too slow to find their name in the social tab and whisper them. Maybe I’m missing something?

There's a lot I'd still like to see in Palia. In terms of Quality of Life, it'd be nice to toggle auto-run and auto chop/mine/water plants/etc. Plowing/watering the land should also grant Gardening EXP. I wish your tools didn't downgrade when they break and that storage had a bit more space (I have 8 regular chests and 3 safe chests in my yard and it looks ridiculous). The character creator definitely needs more skin and hair options, as well as regular glasses (the only pair available are sunglasses). I've seen people requesting mounts before and I agree that having the animals from the game (Ormuus and Sernuk) as a mount would be very cute, especially if it involves a quest to tame them or bond with them in another way. Maybe even having a Chapaa as a companion that would follow you around. Same principle for any other creatures that may get added to other map areas later in the game. I would also like to have other options for traveling though, like maybe having a skate or a bike. And I know we already have fast-travel boards scattered around (which I'm grateful for) but it'd be cool to also be able to travel (maybe from one map to another) by train, boat, or hot hair balloon for it to be a bit more immersive. As for quests, I had two ideas: a beach cleaning and a social event of some sort (like a barbecue).

My massive issue with Palia so far is that its a solo game. Theres literally zero things you can do with your friends tbh. Sure you can chop trees and mine rocks..but thats it. It would be nice if you could have a house with friends or your partner :( It feels like a solo game.. where I thought it was supposed to be opposite, something to do with other people?

There are bonus moodlets when fishing together instead of solo. Also a huntingtrip with a group is more fun, surrounding the animals so they have nowhere to run. And everyone gets even loot, also the newbie who missed all shots.

What a great video Sarah! I think Palia has so much potential and I’m so excited for all the things that are coming . Some things I would personally love to be added eventually: Ranching, pets, more clothing items that aren’t paid, furniture interaction, diverse biomes, more wildlife, weather systems, private servers, no server jumping when going to bahari bay or to the plot, tech to automate certain things like watering crops, more foregeables, more fun things to do with other people. I know that’s a lot, but I’m just excited about the future of the game

As much as I like the woods theme of the plots they have, it would be interesting to also have options for a Beach or Mountainous plot. Although that might be too much to ask for.

The game is already absolutely amazing and I can’t wait see how much it progresses in the future. There are things I’d like to see added and tweaked though. I really would like to be able to swim. I don’t like the screen fading to black and booting you back when you get in the water. I know people don’t really want combat but I do feel like some combat needs adding. Not PVP but something.. I’m not sure.. like bosses in fields? Ones you can solo and ones you can do in a group. Quests maybe. Optional though in case you don’t want to do combat. It needs to please both sides which I imagine won’t be super easy. I really want to be able to sit 😂 please palia! Let us sit! 😂 I have more thoughts but I also don’t wanna ramble on. Long story short. It’s a wonderful game, especially so early on. It doesn’t get boring fast and I am 100% in love with it.

I spent at least 30 minutes trying to figure out how to plow the garden. I googled it but it’s too early to find many videos. I finally asked in chat and was able to figure it out. Hmm... Never played an MMO game. I wouldn't have the faintest idea how that even works, which is intimidating. And, being more than a bit of an introvert, with no gamer friends, online or otherwise, I'm not sure how much fun I would have playing with people I don't know. We really really need more interaction with players, like Trading, a Marketplace or Peoximity chat. The way the game is set up rn is actively making you dislike the other players on the server.... and loot needs to be shared not just to everyone hitting something but everyone in a Group ,or even better, everyone in close range. Best example is hunting..how do they think you can hunt together when everything is a one hit. The game is really fun and I love it, but some aspects leave me to wonder what the hell the alpha testers did the whole time and why some elements even made it in the Beta this bad.

This game needs to step it up like crazy when it comes to life skills and npc interaction especially with so little exploration and no combat. Npcs are fleshed out with long quest chains sure but its all just fetch quests and some riddles. There's no mini game with Tish to make a piece of furniture that I encountered, no hunting trip with hassain, no fishing competition with Eirnar, no overcooked style cookoff with Reth. Ain't no soul to anything I've had to do so far quest wise. :/ Ain't no dungeons and raids so instance some cool npc encounters and games?

Pretty sure their competitors will also have a similar roadmap designed for Palia as follows: - New close beta release of gathering bots in second half of this year - Open beta release of f2p gathering bots which can be used by public in first half of next year - New resources that can be gathered will be added to the gathering bots - Themed feature added to gathering bots like night time gathering only, water side gathering only etc. - Paid booster feature where you can buy to increase bot gathering speed - Nintendo switch support - More customization option (like ability to go home to dump gathering loot or directly go to general store to sell loot) - Full controller support - More quality of life improvement As I'm sure you can tell, their competitors want Palia to be a game you can exploit and ruin for many years to come, with frequent updates to their already sophisticated bots, more lands that it can gather, more ways to exploit, and so much more. Not sure where this is coming from. Resources aren't THAT hard to come by, and you can't trade- you can only make "requests" for resources which have a cap per request per item type, and you can only make 5 requests per day. Bot your account directly and you risk losing it all with a ban. Also there's really no advantage over other players in having more resources like other f2p MMOs. Just better tools and a bigger house to decorate and show off to friends. Additionally, you cannot trade or gift gold. Oh and open beta is tomorrow not next year lol. I don't get the hate if you don't even know anything about the game. Let the chill social MMO be.

@@Tressym. Then what is everyone doing right now in the game? Are they not grinding resources or are they chilling out socializing? And pls don't take what you don't like to hear as negativity and hate. I am not hating the game. I am in fact loving this game that I voice out. If I hate this game, I would not even bother to say anything. The way the game design its resource gathering is a big invite to bot crafter. Let not argue and wait and see. The truth will reveal in time to come. And I have to remind yout that hate is generated within yourself by yourself. Nobody can create hate and plant it into your mind. Your mind create it all by your own will. If you don't want hate, work on your mind. Don't externalize it on others.

@@kwoowoo828 there really is no point in using bot when all fun in the game lies in gathering resources, and there is 0 competitiveness, non existent player driven economy, and if you did use bot then no one would care, it wouldn't impact other people at all, yes you would have a bigger and better decorated house, but who would care🤣?

@@redragon9588Did you read what I said. I say it is their competitors who are out to destroy the game. Who is talking about have fun with bots? And earning gold with bots? The bots is to destroy the games so that players will leave to play other game (their game). You think coding bots is kids play and average player can do it? We have seen it all in other games. Nothing is new. I am just sounding an early warning after seeing how their design is so vulnerable to botting, in fact bot friendly. Already I have seen a player spawned out of nowhere in front of an enchanted tree after the enchanted tree spawned. I was there hunting for enchanted tree and accidentally witness the event. It is as if this player know when the enchanted tree will spawn and at what location. What is sure is that this player is not a bot .... YET. I observe his movement and determined that there is a real human behind the char. Perhaps this person is a bot programmer still developing his code and figuring out the way. Already he has figured out when the enchanted tree will spawn and exactly at what location and he can teleport freely to that exact spot. What he need to do is to code it into a bot and majority of players will be denied of access to enchanted tree to the extent they will feel frustrated and leave the game.

This game is fail. 2023 and it missed basic MMO system, like player's traders. Why u will play this MMO if you can not trade, sell, with others players? It brings all bads disvantages of a multiplayer game and do not bring nothing good for multiplayer. You can not trade witj others, you can not duel or kill another player, you can not share quests with others players. The chat is the worst ever. Just press enter and all text will be displayed on the old ugly retangule. Why not in top of players characters? lol. The beta phase show us that the servers are completely unstable and far away enough for launch. It will not have servers on most of the country, so the ping is terrible. It breaks all mechanics like cooking that u have do to the actions at the right time. You do not have you plot in the world to others p[ass by and visit. All you have is a plot on the starter city (not to metion it only have 1 city and 2 small maps). Your plot is a separate instance. It is the same place all players join to their own instance. of course u can invite friends to join the same instance as u, but u arent free to choose where in the world u want your plot and the players can not see your plot traveling into the world, only if u invite. So why u have a plot if u can not show freely to others? Well, not to mention you neighter have separated servers. You can not choose for example play on the server ABCD, there are no list of servers. If click play and join a random server. So the players u will be playing are totally random too. Sorry, neither of the noticed changes will make the game better. With all those fails, if not changed, i will never play it again. It is not because beta stage, it because bad systems and bed direction it is going.

Well it is obvious that this game is not for you. You gave some compelling criticism when it comes to the MMO features, although since it is beta and they want to make it work I feel that this will be addressed with time. What makes me say it isn't for you is your argument for killing other players. I honestly can't fathom how a cozy, community focused MMO would battle toxicity if that was an option. I am so happy to NOT have to battle with people, I literally have every other MMO in existence to do that so I love Palia for not having it. IF they ever include PvP I'd love to see it in a form of "games" like football or hunting/fishing competitions, maybe chase or hide & seek but never combat. It just doesn't feel right

The games boring, but at least some people enjoy it. There isn't really any other 'mmo' with the theme Palia has, no competition, farming, and just basic quests. It's good for people who aren't into hardcore games and just want to relax. Personally find games like that repetitive and dull, I like challenging games more. The trailers certainly led me to think there would be more challenge in this game.
