I am so happy that it is coming so soon after I bought my F1. The thing I'm most excited about is the estimated time that I heard is coming. It will make it a lot easier to understand if I can still start something during my lunch break before I need to go back to work or would have to leave it outside unattended.

Looking forward to that camera trick!

Would be nice if they added an add on device to be able to have auto focus on the D1 and D1 Pro. SOME of us have as much $$$ tied up in the old D1 and D1Pro as people do that waited till the S1 finally came out.

Where can I purchase the target markers?

Sounds very interesting. Being able to operate multiple lasers off one computer at once and the other features 👍

They're definitely making progress. Now if they could just up the layer pallet from 9 and give us sub-layers we'd be headed in a really good direction. Disclaimer I haven't installed 2.0 yet so maybe those are there?

I don't think there's nested layers yet. I didn't notice when using it this weekend. 2.0 is officially out now! Go grab it!!!

I have the XCS 2.0 Beta version that I have been poking around in a bit. My first impressions are that I really like the new features & the speed and you highlighted many of the great new additions in your video. I don't like the way the interface has changed. To use a car analogy, improve the engine, better brakes, new stereo but don't change where the gas peddle or steering wheel are. Its like buying a new car and having to relearn how to drive. Annoying. I was also a bit irked when the new 2.0 installation deleted the old 1.7.8 installation. Now I don't even have that to fall back on. Don't get me wrong. I am very happy with my xTool machines. (S1-40w & D1 Pro-40w) Both have produced great results and I think they give a lot of 'bang for the buck'.

Thanks for a good video. just one thing The F1 is not a Fiber laser. its at Diode/IR laser :)

Right right, I keep misnaming those darn things. Still useful machines, but ya - not TRUE fiber lasers.

Does anybody have experience in Lightburn and XCS 2.0? I wan´t to buy an co2 laser. but i´m not sure if i want xtool or an other brand,. Witch program gives me the most benefit? XCS sounds nice for beginners, but lightburn seems for me more powerful. My idea is to by the xtool p2 because it seems lightburn compatible, but i heard Lightburn isn´t running smoothly and brings some issues with camera and auto-focus on the xtool p2 device.

Lightburn is pretty much THE software you want to use for working with lasers. XCS is proprietary and only works with xTool lasers. I use XCS if it's something quick purely from the standpoint of being able to use it wirelessly, which I can't do with Lightburn.

@@fiercekittenz Thank you. Do you know something about the live autofocus (3d focus/scanning) what the "xtool P2" has for engraving uneven surfaces like stone or raw wood. I only know the "P2" and the "Muse 3D" have this feature within there homemade software. Do you know if there exsist a way to do the 3d scanning with Lightburn and intiegrate with an other machine
@susan_halla8 ай бұрын
@@NewLOL74 You will need to use the XCS software for any of the more complicated processing for the P2 such as engraving curved surfaces. While the P2 is Lightburn compatible, to get the most from your machine (at least right now) it’s all about XCS. I used Lightburn back when I first got a D1, but with my P2 I only use XCS. It’s been great, and I haven’t felt like I”ve missed anything. HTH.

You’re going places, @fiercekitty. Subscribed! If I had more time for Discord, I really should sign up for Sewhalla since Halla is my last name. And yes, my dad DID suggest naming me Val!

So I have several other brand lasers but I also have the P2. I bought the P2 knowing fully that it was limited LightBurn support for anything beyond the basics. What I normally do is all of my design and layer work in LightBurn without consideration to the laser and then export the SVG. Then I'll import it into XCS to do final layout with the camera and setup my engraving/cutting options on each layer. To that end it's the same as if I were to use AI or Inkscape for the design work and import to XCS. So yeah it's a 2 step process but it's what I'm comfortable with.

I’m a bit sad. I bought a Snapmaker and realized it was way advanced. So I got an f1 and was in heaven. Had some life things happen and didn’t get to use it for awhile. Went in today and I spent an hour just trying to find how to get to the area to open your design and then another hour trying to set the parameters. The same project took me a few minutes before the upgrade. Now I will have to go watch a bunch of videos and learn for days. So disappointing

If you're not experienced with lasers or even AutoCAD style applications it can be a bit daunting. Is there anything specific you'd like help with?

I’m going to spend some more time with it today. Thanks for the offer. I will let you know if I still have an issue. My problem is simply navigating. Seems I am stuck on the designfind page
