i think the problem is turn based has to be more engaging imo to garner the attention. some indie devs have started making games based on retro systems and looks. could expose that more people would play turn based games more than we think.

Halfway between classics and XVI. I agree it's most likely graphics. However, that may also mean it has some sort of Lightning Returns battle system or a battle system where you have AI doing their own thing in real time but you have to wait to issue commands to your main character -- similar to playing FF XII but taking off your gambit on your main character since your main character is controlled by you and not the computer. In clown world, I think it will have an anime cartoon style while in battle but have a 3D overhead world view (think Ni No Kuni) .

The "for kids" statement is interesting as I immediately think World of Final Fantasy. It sounds to me like it will be refreshed graphics like 8 or 10. The halfway between classic and 16, since each game is stylistically different there's not really an in between, I would think that might effect gameplay, specifically world travel. I hope they show some of the concept soon be it art, graphics, or whatever.

Ill believe this rumor when i see it. Im sorry, 9 was only popular with old school fans and Final Fantasy "vets". To us old school fans that didnt start with FF7, 9 was superior in every way. However the "noob" FF fan that jumped in with 7, didn't get or understand 9 or why we loved it. And as such because of that it was the lowest selling FF of the PS1 era (no matter how much i really dont want to admit this)

don't want a remake of 9, original is already perfect (minus tetra master, rope-skipping, and involuntary trance), the painterly backgrounds, music, plot pacing, world-building, is all optimal if you ask me. we don't need everything to be a third person open world game, or any weird nomura plot twists...i don't trust them to do a simple remaster

cbu1, the unit toshiyuki itahana is in. people forget that cbu1 consist of several business units prior to the merger. they assume cbu1 is small and only works on two game

@@makairp That's true, it would be weird. However, it could be similar to how The Last of Us Part 1 was treated. Updated graphics, remastered audio and environments, faster frame rates, minimal loading times, and Dualsense support.
