New findings on United Airlines Jet that slid off runway at Bush Airport

The pilot of a United Airlines jet that slid off the runway at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) in March told federal investigators that he did not “slow too much” initially upon landing.

Two major factors? It’s the only factor. You can’t turn 90 degrees on to a wet taxiway on the “piano keys” carrying 40 kts. The “piano keys” are slick when they’re wet. Every pilot who saw this incident when it happened knew EXACTLY what caused this accident. Pilot error and nothing more.

@@johnp139 Which can be the first officer OR the captain. Both pilots are trained exactly the same. Both pilots are controlling the safe operation of the flight. Sometimes the first officer can be more experienced and have more hours than the captain.
