𝗙𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗱 𝗥𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗥𝗮𝗶𝗹 𝗧𝗮𝗶𝗹 Tremolo Retrofit Kit for Stratocaster® style tremolo fitted guitars. Easy DIY drop-in for 6 point bridges with no mods*. (*Also fits 2 point bridge guitars with some minor drilling) 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻-𝗠𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗱 𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘀𝘀! Read more about it.▼
𝗔𝗕𝗢𝗨𝗧 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗥𝗔𝗜𝗟 𝗧𝗔𝗜𝗟:
The Rail Tail Tremolo is a full-contact, dive-only tremolo designed to retrofit your existing Strat® -style 6-point tremolo with no modifications to your guitar; a clever design merging the feel and reliability of a hardtail bridge with the flexibility of a tremolo system. Computer designed and precision-machined, the Rail Tail achieves maximum performance and stunning appearance without compromising comfort or feel. Its unique features allow for adjustability to fit a variety of guitar bodies and for an easy DIY installation.
Unlike the original tremolo design that rocks on a bevel located under the screw heads, the Rail Tail tremolo plate rotates around a precision rail that is mounted directly to the guitar body. The plate cradles the entire rail with precision as if they were one unit improving sound quality and tuning stability.
This union also creates a greater breakpoint allowing open strings to maintain pitch when bending another, much like a hardtail. The tremolo plate consists of slotted string block mounting holes not only for accommodating installation but also allowing the string block to be positioned forward for greater rotational range. This means diving up to 15 degrees more than conventional tremolo bridges.
An advanced string block also consists of game-changing features: Mid-positioned tapered string holes assist in true string saddle contact. Working in alliance with the rail and string block are the roller fitted string saddles. This entire assembly provides ultimate vibrational energy transfer from the strings to the guitar body resulting in better overall sustain and tonal qualities.
E to E string spacing available in Narrow spacing 2 1/16" (52mm) and Wide spacing 2 7/32" (56mm)
►𝗣𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗲: The Rail mounting holes are universal meaning that a narrow spaced Rail Tail will fit onto a wide-spaced guitar body and vice versa◄ (For optimum performance, playing experience, and reliability, it’s highly recommended that the guitar this unit is being installed on, is equipped with locking tuners and a quality nut.)

I have this unit on my strat and I just want to set your expectations. It does sound and sustain better than your standard strat tremelo. You need to tighten the springs as much as you can so that it always cocks all the way back. It does not handle pinch harmonic dive bombs nearly as well as a Floyd rose because the nut isn't locked. It cannot do the Eddie Van Halen things if you know what I mean. It is easy to install, but it is expensive.

I love mine as It has so many innovations that are actually useful, my favorite being the adjustable block which can increase the "throw" of your Trem. Like my latest Gotoh, their block also has a better break angle by having the ball end connect higher up in the block. I'm glad I got mine early though, I do NOT like "roller" saddles, and I hear the latest production run has switched over to these. I have had bad issues with roller saddles previously, but maybe FR has licked the "contact" issue.

You're right on, 100% correct! I'm well aware of this, as it's been a big part of my life in high-end classical guitars. I've always thought people knew energy can be transferred in right and wrong ways; so much for the myth. Revised: it's all about the desired tranference of energy, giving you full-bodied tone.

Actually it looks identical in every way to the Boogie Rail unit. I have 3 of them on different guitars and they are really cool. I loved that they were relatively inexpensive and came in many colors. I know the Boogie Rail guys sold the design idea which is why they are out of production so I guess Floyd Rose bought it up and is marketing it. I paid $35 a piece for them so who knows what they are going for...

This is great but why make it Dive Only? One of the best things about the modern two-point Strat tremolos is you can actually do flutters on them and go up if you want to. You guys should really release a ball bearing based tremolo -- The Vigier system is amazing...And so is the Ibanez SynchroniZR and the ZR2.0...Those are the best trem designs in the world IMHO...Knife edges are never going to be as good as sealed permanently lubricated bearings.

...Question, does this unit have anything to do with the Boogie-Rail tremolo unit that was being sold a few years ago? I was lucky to receive one to test on one of my guitars (this was back in 2011-2012) and it was a great concept, but that original unit was rather un-refined in terms of look and required the use of the original tremolo's block and saddles. But yeah, I WANT THIS ON MY PRS SE. When will it be available?

I feel really dumb but what makes the trem come back after diving and why aren't the strings pulling it "flat" all the time. Regular trems have springs anchored to the body underneath the pick ups. I don't see this component of the system in the video. I guess I'm just dumb. Can anybody explain this? Maybe they just left it out because it's an "obvious" necessity that is not relevant to selling point of the product.

@Todesnuss 6 жыл бұрын
The reason this wont float properly is because you can't get it parallel to the body without touching down on the body. The SuperVee in turn is by default floating since it sits a little off the body when it's parallel. You can change that with a block of course.

@@aarons3825 Have you tried rubbing some pencil lead into the nut slots, the graphite would provide lubrication for the strings? Could even use something else slippy like a tiny drop of oil mixed into water. If that reduces the tuning instability then it is a safe bet that the nut is the issue. Either way, if you took it to a tech, they would cut you a new nut and find any other potential problem areas for you.

+Craig Mead Beginning of animation is wrong/misleading showing the strings as being bellow the saddles (?!??! :-)) ). In reality, if you have another look, you will see that the strings are put on it just as they would on a classic Strat tremolo. The only innovation is the gliding surface on which it rests and the mounting fine alignment slots. And maybe some design stuff not obvious from the animation. But it's pretty much a Strat trem that has a gliding surface like a hinge, instead of rotating against the guitar body. Nice idea, though.

+Joey Mondry The EBMM floating bridge can go both ways (dive and pull up) and you can also still do flutters on it. You just can not dive as low (or as high) as an OFR where the string tension is so loose they are flopping all over the neck -- which IMHO, is pointless anyways. That's how they achieve the tuning stability -- that combined with locking tuners -- yes, locking TUNERS, NOT a locking nut -- totally different. The Music Man guitars use a standard compensated nut, no locks on it. IMHO this design (the new floyd) is not the way to go. If you REALLY need this, Ibanez's ZPS system is probably the best thing you'll ever try. There are also other methods that balance the springs in the back cavity that will mimic the ZPS system -- There's a company called "Stay toon'd" or something that makes a custom back claw that is staggered so the inner springs are not as tight, and hence the bridge won't move when doing double stops. I never minded that though, I always thought it ads a bit of quirkiness to my playing...It's very easy to compensate for, just bend a little more \ less (depending) and listen to it and feel it.

This is very similar to Schecter vibrato systems from the late 70's/early 80's. Robust engineering, no extra routing when retrofitting to existing Strat style guitars, and no more cutting off ball ends. If priced right, should be a BIG seller. I hate normal Floyds. and would prefer this. Of course - KAHLER RULES, but if you can't have the best, settle for this.

Es como un Vega trem??

No...
