Watch the footage in question: lbc.co.uk/news... [warning: graphic violence]
New footage from Manchester Airport appears to show moments of violence before a police officer allegedly stamped on a man's head.
It comes after nights of protests in Rochdale and Manchester city centre after a viral video filmed on Tuesday showed an officer kick and stamp on the head of a man who was lying face down on the floor, as a woman knelt beside him.
New footage filmed from a car park at Manchester Airport’s Terminal 2 now appears to show that officers were under attack moments before.
A group can be seen in the new video - originally obtained by Manchester Evening News - showing people standing close to a ticket machine as they are approached by police.
Three officers - one man and two women - can be seen walking through the group and towards a man dressed in light blue.
The male officer appears to then try and restrain the man and push his head down.
Another man from the group then gets involved and grabs the officer in an attempt to free the detained man.
The group and officers then exchange blows as the male officer is pulled to the ground.
The detained man in blue manages to break free from the female officer and punch her other female colleague.
Both women receive punches to the head with one ending up on the ground.
The male officer can then be seen wielding a Taser, directing it towards the male who appeared to punch him.
The man in blue who freed himself from police runs at the male officer from behind and throws a number of punches towards him.
The man in blue then drops to the floor, turning over onto his stomach and lying face down - at which point a woman can be seen kneeling down next to him.
The remainder of the new video has already been seen in Tuesday's footage where the officer appears to kick and then stamp on the man's head as he lies on the ground.
The family of a man who was kicked have since issued a "plea for calm" and urged people not to take part in any further protests, their MP has said.

It just highlights the inadequacies of today's police. The diversity agenda has introduced recruitment of physically weak men and women. Too small. The wrong background. No understanding of how to deal with these situations. Also too many ineffective female officers. The female officer assaulted at Manchester airport should not have been dispatched to the scene as she was out of her depth. The male officers were no better. Completely physically overpowered.

This is such a violent incident, the officers were taken by surprise and were subjected to totally unjustified violence. The officer, in my eyes, is justified in his actions. You have to remember police officers are human too and experience the same fear as everyone else regardless of their job role. Here is an officer who has been assaulted along with his colleagues and he has used a method to defend and restrain. If I was in that officers shoes my worry would be the man getting back up and fighting again. You have to bear in mind one officer is containing the other offender sitting down, one officer is seriously injured and there is this officer who does the kick. Taking the whole scenario into context, the kicking officer has done the right thing to prevent further escalation, he’s prevented the target from getting up and carrying on, he’s neutralised the situation as best as he could given that other officers are either engaged or injured to deal with the incident. Also there is the rest of the family of the two offenders to consider, the police were outnumbered. Race and religion is not a feature of this incident, it is exactly as it has played out and cctv does not lie. LBC please do not have senior ranking officers giving a viewpoint because they are so out of touch with frontline policing, have frontline officers who deal with this sort of violence day to day give their viewpoint because they will give a better perspective.

The full video showed unprecedented violence from both sides But having lived in Italy for a while I was thinking that an attack of that sort would have ended even more dramatically if it had happened there, because the rules of engagement of police are different. It is just an assumption and I may be wrong but my point is: all criminal activity occurred in that incident should be equally punished. Not just the necessary scrutiny and consequences for the wrongdoing of the police force.

The footage doesn't change anything unless you believe that everything that happens in a video is in a "bubble" somehow, and that there aren't events preceding that lead to a man being defenceless on the floor and then being kicked in the head by a policeman. All this video has done is given "justification" to the officer's acts. A reminder: police officers are not there to administer justice. This is NOT Judge Dredd. That is what the justice system is for and the idea is ALL people are given their right once arrested to tell their side of the story, to go to court and be judged, not by one person, but a collective of their peers. I can accept that being a police officer is a difficult job. You will see your colleagues abused, harmed and in extreme circumstances killed. Your job is not to avenge your fellow officers. Your job is to uphold the law. Not be above it. Your job is to protect the public. Not incite violence and demonstrate it. I understand that tempers flare and emotions can get to people in heightened situations. But you are there as an officer because you have been trained to be able to deal with these situations. To put emotions aside, uphold the law and do your duty. There is no police authority who can deem this response as reasonable. The acts beforehand by those arrested are abhorrent, but that does not mean you get to kick someone in the head after they are defenceless on the ground. Regardless of who you are there are laws in place and they have to be followed by all.

The first video clip, that was shown previously, of the police kicking the suspect on the ground was horrific. However, from other camera angles the man on the floor moved his arm and head slightly. This may have been a spasm in response to the taser, but in light of the previous continuous assaults on police this may be the reason the police officer kicked him - that he was to get up. It's not clear but it must be remembered that the officer was armed.

New footage does show that the two men started throwing punches while the one in blue was being arrested. I don't agree with their behaviour, it's disgusting. I still don't understand what took place before the cops arrived, there doesn't seem to be any conflict with anyone around before they approached the two guys. I think the initial arrest was harse, without context, but I believe the cops in the aftermath did well to defend themselves. I still believe the head kicking was extreme after using the taser, but I also believe the situation should have been handled better to avoid the fight in the first place. Once we hear the 999 call, and the police cam footage from when they arrive at the scene, then we can discuss where the faults lie. The first video is one sided and the second video doesn't show the full incident before the cops arrive. It's a mess to be honest and a full timeline needs to be addressed quickly.

the teenagers did not attacked the police but defended themselves, the police in their initial contact with the suspects did not issued any section of the PACE prior to their arrest, the police by acting in this manner committed assault, its unlawful to touch anyone without consent, the whole activity of the police was completely unlawful because the police action was not covered by any invoked section of the PACE making unlawful any activity made by the police, everyone is innocent until proven guilty but the police without having probable cause readily apparent proceeded to a violent and brutal assault and arrest of two minors, its important to mention that 76 hours later the police did not charged the suspects with any criminal activity prior to the intervention of the police, for this the Manchester police is looking for members of the public to corroborate the need of the police brutality, if existed any evidence or indication to justify any arrest the police would not be asking for help from the members of the public, probable cause being readily apparent must be at the moment of arrest and not after the fact, the police officers of this incident must be all in jail.

So, it was not senseless violence for no reason, it was senseless violence out of retribution. To put things into perspective: What the police officer did, could be prosecuted as a war crime, if it happened in an armed conflict. Without condoning what the police have done and vilifying what the men arrested did, lets just put some common sense to this. Police have to neutralise the threat. It's not a game of tag where you touch someone and they are nullified. Anyone who does not consider the threat they are under coupled with the assault they receive as being something to consider are idiots. It's not a game for gentlemen. Some people don't play by the rules and are still extremely violent whilst in custody given the chance. If we don't support and backup our police and make allowances when they may have overstepped due to the threat posed, we will suffer in the long run. Unfortunately, but it's an absolute fact we cannot employ nursery nurses to protect us from some of the violent and criminal elements there are. The officer that did the kicking by the way, was repeatedly punched around the head by one assailant and then attacked from behind and again repeatedly punched around the head. I don't condone it and I don't condemn it but I do understand it and would have to make allowances for someone who is in one of the most risky and stressful jobs in the world.
