Mate, Ibanez could hire you for introducing their products, really... 🙂How you described the key aspects and features of the instruments, is flawless. (I missed only a bit more playing, in different styles - e.g. walking bass, some slap, using a pick, etc. - but otherwise, we could clearley hear how the electronics modify the sound of the instruments.)

The pickups are Nordstrums Big Breaks but are dual linear coils...like a P pickup but in 1 straight pickup cover, 2 linear coils under the pickup cover but not soapbar pickups...a cross between a Jazz & P pickup with a more modern tone...great pickups, i have them on my Ash bodied 5 piece neck Ibanez Sound Gear SR600E....good demo & details...

I bought it and I like it. For newer hard rock songs I turn the bass up slightly, the treble down slightly, and leave the midrange alone, I also give the neck pickup a very slight edge. I also usually pick with my fingers just in front of the neck pickup. For older songs that are more thumpy, I turn the treble down pretty far, turn up the bass pretty far, and give a large edge to the neck pickup. I pluck nearer the neck, My old BTB bass was wearing on my fingers, but this is thin and fast and is much easier on my fingers, It also had sharper edges, which could make my arm uncomfortable. They both sound good. This is not a lightweight bass. Both gave easy to adjust bridges. Use an electrical tuner, and you can have the intonation on either adjusted in minutes. I usually prefer a thru-neck, but this is easier and faster for my hands. The BTB also had a 35" scale, whereas this has a 34" scale.

Nice review Oli 🤘 I've just started looking at this bass and it would pair very nicely with my PRS SE 24-08 in Eriza Verde.

looks amazing. Too bad we couldn't listen this as bass, only as guitar

While everyone cursing you for using pick, I would like to thank you for using pick since I am a pick user bassist due to I played metal. Will consider this bass since the tone from pick picking also quite heavy and deep.

I love that bass!! But the green is hideous !!!! How about natural wood with clear gloss??
@beornthebear.82202 жыл бұрын
They make plenty of basses with natural wood colors. I don't know if they have them in a gloss.

Low gloss is just a half assed finish.... As a painter I will NEVER have a half finished guitar... Got nothing against the 806....just bought a brown burst before christmas, paid $1149.00 and got an outstanding finish.

Low gloss is for speed.Helps prevent the thumb drag studder
@Pktattooss2 жыл бұрын
@@bjbullock8958 It’s Also helps prevent your forearm from dragging against the body. And lets the wood shine through instead of covering up a lousy finish. Some people are just amateur players. And some of us are professionals that know what we want and need.
@DanielPerez-vt5ez2 жыл бұрын
You can leave half ass out of it since it was purposely done in this finish. 🙄 But most likely, you are a good painter. Really don't like to see half assed painted cars with that orange peel look! 🤦🙋🙂
