Morning Dave and of course Logan. We have just enjoyed your video Whilst eating Cream cake and Hot steaming coffee. Really enjoyed the walk around Splash Bridge. And the fungus was really interesting. Maybe that’s why you are a Fun Guy. Old ones are the best. To see Oak trees that are a couple of hundred years old is truly amazing. Keep safe 😷 The Gang up here loved the Logan Zooms.

Those devils fingers are interesting. Never heRd of them before. All very pretty on that walk. Lovely colours. Can’t beat an autumnal walk after a frost on the ground. Splash Bridge is amazing. No wonder it’s a favourite with artists.

I think that is one of my favourite walks in the New Forest, Lionel. The views from Hasley Hill are stunning.

Another lovely walk to do! Looks like Logan loves the walks.

Some great views on that walk and whenever Logan comes across sand it means it is time for "Whippet zoomies"!

Fascinating footage of the Devil's fingers Dave. I have to confess to not noticing them on the forest until recently and sure enough, according to the New Forest NPA, they're an invasive species from the southern hemisphere first found on the forest in 2000.

They are certainly well named!

I have had an absolute pig of a day at work, dreadful it drove me crazy. Then you get home and see Dave has put up another video. I watch them over and over again, most are within 20 mins of where i live. I genuinely love these video's and even more the whippet zoomies.

Hi Dave just did this walk at the weekend and what a great walk it is thanks! Also included the section through High Corner Wood, Amberslade bottom, Broomy Plain (past another pony pound!) to Cadman's Pool. Absolutely spectacular at the moment with the autumnal colours. Then back along Dockens water on the edge of Holly Hatch Inclosure. Magical in the dappled sunlight!

Thanks Lee. We did end up in the High Corner Inn (as I mentioned in the final scene) but we didn't film in there as we had already done the end scene on Splash Bridge. I certainly agree with you about the beer & food - one of my favourite pubs in the New Forest.

Another good one Dave. Some of my favourite views. I have painted Splash bridge for an art exhibition to be held in Lyndhurst next September. Called New Forest Past and Present using Heywoods Sumner's picture as the past view.

Thanks Peter. I will definitely look out for your exhibition next year.

A truly beautiful walk Dave, I really enjoyed it. Autumn is a gorgeous time of year, such delightful hues wherever you look, and those Devil’s Fingers, so sea like! You choose some really lovely pieces of music in your walks, could you please tell me what the name of the first piece of guitar music is? It’s lovely. Very many grateful thanks to you and to Logan, so good to see him having a lovely time on the sand. Thank you
@DaveFord3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Sue. The first piece of guitar music is called "Firefly" by Chris Haugen. You can download it for free from the KZbin Audio Library. Just type in "Firefly" into search at : studio.kzbin.info/door/P-PdocpLbbVj_2E4VxeU_wmusic

It is certainly a great place to walk. In this particular area, there is a designated cycle track through the Broomy Inclosure (links up with a long cycle route through inclosures at Linford).

A really nice video David. what a nice walk. And some of the views were pretty fabulous. Especially that bridge over the river early on in the walk. Did you get to any really autumnal colourful places this autumn for the autumn leaves ? I know this was really colourful though.
@DaveFord4 жыл бұрын
Thanks David. Yes - I have managed to get a few "Autumnal" videos done over the last few weeks. Indeed, I have made a couple of "virtual walk" videos (I don't appear on screen and there is no music or commentary......just the sounds of the Forest...and my footsteps) that I have scheduled for around Christmas time. Just an experiment really ...something different .... will be interesting to see what folk think of them!

Thanks for the reply David ... that sounds good . I will look forward to those .

Can you swim at Splash Bridge?
@DaveFord3 жыл бұрын
Dockens Water (the stream that goes under the bridge) is fairly shallow & not deep enough to swim in. Indeed as the Summer progresses, the level of the water can get very low & it looks more like a brook.

I think your background in amateur dramatics was starting to reemerge there Dave. I was half expecting a car chase for a minute. Or was it a poetry reading?
