Gradually going through your videos. Your knowledge is amazing. I love being educated about the Forest, which is my favourite place to wander. So, thankyou.

Intersting. I learned a lot. The quality of the film is way better than a lot of KZbin content. Thank you.

There are supposed to be unexploded munitions dotted around the New Forest. Perhaps especially Ashurst.

Thanks again Dave and Logan for this video since I was little I’ve been fascinated with the history of the Beaulieu airfield.

Thank you. Surprising what little bits of evidence are still there although the area around the "bomb store" is gradually being reclaimed by nature.

Thanks Ann. A good walk to do any time of the year as the ground is quite firm in that area,

Nice little explore. It's a shame most of the airfield has been knocked down. Thanks for sharing
@DaveFord5 жыл бұрын
Thank you. Yes, it is a shame that so little is left. You get Castles that stand around for centuries and yet Airfields like this (which were just as important at one stage in the defence of the country) just gradually "disappear" over time.

Hello Dave! Another wonderful interesting & informative walk w/ you and Logan. 😀👍 Just came over from your new Airfields of WW2 as I was intrigued by "Beaulieu" as I had a really good friend in high school w/ that last name (she however, pronounced it Bill-you). So I Googled Beaulieu Estate & the even stranger thing, I just possibly stumbled onto another ancestral home as I am descended from the Wrothsely/Wriothsely family.

Wow. It is amazing what information you can stumble upon when you least expect it, that is for sure!

G'day from Sydney Dave...I came across your walks. Can't remember how, but I'm so glad I did. Reminds me of my days as a kid exploring the woods. When my health improves hoping to come home and re-live my younger days...Have you ever thought of a metal detector to see when you can turn up ? Not that items would be removed from the site. But it could prove interesting Cheers mate...

Hi Steve.... and welcome to the channel! Hope you enjoy future episodes over the next few months. Alas, there is a byelaw preventing the use of a metal detector on the New Forest - I will have to rely on Logan's nose!

For a long period of time they made charcoal at the bomb storage storage site. It was always burning. Then overnight it just seemed to disappear.
