If she had one, she wouldn't have even been showing much and wouldn't produce much milk. She COULD have stumbled across an orphaned pup, but the chances of her not only doing that and NOT attacking/killing it are much, much lower than just having been pregnant the whole time and having one pup.

More likely it just followed her. Coyotes are very protective of their pups. They wouldn't let another coyote just come and steal one. This one probably wandered away and found weave somewhere. Or it lost its mom to a car accident or something.

Yes I worry about that. As a naive young one he might think humans are nice and have hotdogs. I hope it stays close to weave till it learns well enough. I’ve inquired the collar but apparently that’s a trophy for hunters as his friend has one. I would think bright orange with no tracker box on it would tell someone not to. Some people had a doe they raised from a dawn and it had its blaze orange collar on to stand out from the regular white tails

@@kimmarievan-ever6599 What are you talking about? she would have had it weeks ago. Coyote pups spend their first 3-4 weeks IN the den, then an additional 2-3 staying around it. This pup is about 8 weeks (give or take). Stop acting like she's a house pet he can just keep an eye on 24/7, animals are VERY sneaky, especially when it comes to having babies and if she only had the one, he might not have ever known because wild canids carry their pups high and they don't get that telltale rounded belly (unless it's a massive litter) Once had a cat have a single kitten under my couch, didn't see or hear the kitten until about a week later, it's eyes were already opening when I found it.

Oh, man! I commented many times before, in response to other comments, saying that if Weave was going to mate and have a litter, she would most likely stop showing up. I did not think, not even remotely, about the option that she could adopt a random baby coyote who got lost somewhere. It's going to be interesting to see how it will evolve, but I'm also a bit concerned because one can't ignore the implications of having multiple semi-domestic coyotes around since not every specimen is as well-behaved as Weave, not to mention that males are even more problematic.
