Great catch up on the GTO - Over here in the UK the 'fifty shades' Camaro is running great, as it is still in primer we are thinking of painting it! - we replaced the water pump on our ''Mystery Machine' 78 Ford Econoline van (4.9 straight 6) and we have a new car in the garage, a 'modern' 2004 Chrysler Crossfire, which needed a little work but overall is in good condition - hopefully the weather will be getting better so we can get out more!

I know exactly how you feel about townies moving out to the country/subdivisions. I have a shit ton of people who ride their bikes out where I live. Fortunately I live on a township road and gave a large shepherd that doesn't like company either. So if they ride too slow he provides them with the motivation to move along quickly or to know not come down our road when he may be out.

Jordan, Why are you always putting autos into things? Im mainly asking since autos are more difficult to get working. Since they are either vacuum or computer controlled.
@jordan-ramblinaround23233 жыл бұрын
I don't know about hard to set up, I bolted it up and ran one vac line to the intake. And the same reason Finnegan from roadkill goes through built tremec t56s like crazy. This being a drag car I wanted the auto for it's strength. Generally, nothing kills built th400's. My friend running a stick in his second gen broke so many times last season he barely got to go to events. A muncie or saginaw wouldn't live a good life behind this engine doing what I do with it. especially on nitrous. I am building the 1969 gto I picked up a few months ago around the 4 speed setup though, since it will have a more mild engine. It will have m22 gears, hurst competition plus shifter, and hurst ram rod linkage. I plan to do the ultimate 4 speed setup in it, since people seem so interested in it. But if I did it in all of my cars I'd be broke. Manuals strong enough to live drag racing are very expensive.
@maddmaxx6363 жыл бұрын
@@jordan-ramblinaround2323 The only reason I asked was because you drive both drag and street. I also didnt know how much of a pain itd be to hook one up. Since on my 84 ranger with all of the original ignition stuff. You have to do some weird shit to get the auto shift right (driving) luckily, mine is/was/always will be a stick. Personally I dont like autos due to one dropping from 3rd to fist in the rain since the rear wheels slipped and lost traction.

@@tonijoo6150 stock driveshaft, factory replacement u joints, stock yokes, stock carrier with a mini spool, stock axles, new 3.36 gears, and a thick billet diff cover, with cap braces. Also did a set of nitro studs on the main bearing caps. The weak link of the bop 8.2 Is the soft iron case, they tear open at the yoke. If you can keep them from flexing, it won't do that as easily. So studs on the caps, with a girdled diff cover does more than about anything else you can do. I ran mine on 295 drag radials, 3200 stall, running low 11s with no issues.
