Haha wtf so bullshit! Most of the G Wagons even the not AMG ones are used in big cities for shopping and showing of! And that blond make up women with silicone breasts that drives for shopping every day while her husband is earring the money, doesn’t know what a differential is and don’t really even know how to drive that car in the city because the car is to big! And then the most fun part comes when they have to park, the need parking lots twice as long as the car to even give it a try and even then it’s a show! And if you only look at the amg versions in Germany I would say only 2-3% see off-road regularly! That really is how it is!

Timeless car. The Porsche 911 is the only other to my knowledge. Let's hope that Mercedes will never discontinue it never ever....
@krane15 Жыл бұрын
Not the best comparison. The 911 is purpose built. The G-Wagon is a military vehicle all gussied up for wealthy civilian purposes. Unlike the American Jeep, that people actually do buy with the intent to take off-road.
@umtbozkr2358 Жыл бұрын
@@krane15 First I didn’t wanted to react, but what you say is so full b.s. Porsche is actually an invention of Ferdinand Porsche, the designer of the VW beetle before WW2 started. The name is literally “car of the people”. After WW2 he wanted to design a sporty version of the beetle; the 911 was born as we know now. Why do you think that the engine is so far in the rear off a 911. The VW T1 to T3 bus had also their air cooled engines in the back, just like a beetle. That was an invention of a Dutch VW distributor who wanted a simple car to move parts within his company. Jeep, or “cheap” is a disaster. Drove once a Cherokee, and hope to never drive one again. Actually the only decent American car these days are the Tesla’s. For example; did you know that a Jeep Compass as we have them here in Europe are redesigned Fiat’s with Italian 4 cylinder engines? So don’t start an argument with someone who knows a lot about cars, and drove almost every car brand, an stop yelling redneck comments.
@krane15 Жыл бұрын
@@umtbozkr2358 Too bad your knowledge of cars doesn't extend to your use of logic and how things relate to each other. None of what you just said relates to anything, and most certainly not a logical reply to my comment. Next time, just ask a question. That way you learn something new, and leave here a lot smarter than when you arrived.
@umtbozkr2358 Жыл бұрын
@Krane Of course, your comment had so much depthness and content I was shocked. You don't know anything about cars, you randomly, without a good explanation, pop out some words, and try to look smart. Sir, do your homework and come with facts. Don't try to hide your ignorance behind some fancy sentences. Regarding your comment, you will be the last person to ask a question about cars. Oh, by the way, in simple English; the 911 was not a bespoke sportscar if my explanation was not obvious. It was born as a beetle. Jeep was born as a military car and turned into a niche brand. Is it clear now.

The new G really does match the old one off-road, which is all it had to do. It’s asking a lot for it to be better than a triple-diff military beast in the mud, matching that performance is sufficient. Merc were right to focus their attentions on the luxury and on-road performance. The new G is a top-tier renewal of the brand, they got it right.
@benjaminmatute9085 Жыл бұрын
I understand where you are coming from but with more luxury now. They became pavement princess and rich people pets. And the off-road prowess is similar here but in real tough off-road course, the older g will win. I’m not saying with tire changes and new aftermarket shocks and lift the New G can’t do great things. But from factory with the skinny tires and super “lUxUrY” it’s become further from the original purpose of the G wagon which is a military vehicle, into a pavement princess.
@jrusovich Жыл бұрын
After having both of these vehicles, i can tell you in no uncertain terms that those little tires do not hold up to anything off road throws at them, much less city potholes, one of which, obliterated a rear tire on a 2021 G 63 a day after I purchased it. My wife's Jeep Rubicon could handle an atomic bomb by comparison. Love the G Wagons, but they need to vastly increase the size of the tires to cushion the blows of everyday life. Same with Range Rover, but I digress.
