Lauten are killing it. Love their mics, now innovating cool accessories.

Looks like you can flip the mount, too. Good thinking, Lauten.

I ordered mine from Sweetwater yesterday!! I can't wait to get it!

These look super cool. I think if you were to combine this with something like the Avantone mounts which have shock mounts in them, you could really isolate mics while on a mount.
@bernardofragaleАй бұрын
Camera mounts have been like that for years now. Glad they did it for mics

Thats a killer idea from Lauten - I mean - how many lp claws and e 602 mics have we all seen in the world..... bazillions

I could maybe see these live to help with clutter... Never wanted rim mounts mics for the studio
@JuiceNZАй бұрын
can u please test again but on the snare while sticking the rim ? see if it affects it

@@JuiceNZ I’m interested in the Iso properties properties of this mount, too.

It's basically a modified Shure A56D. I would be concerned about the longevity of the locks on the arm. Could be cool though. I may have to get one and try it side by side with the Shure mount.
@BreakdownBoxesАй бұрын
it has way more adjustability than the A56D and looks more solid. I use A56Ds on my snares live, but only with the A53M shockmount clips.
@johnvcougarАй бұрын
@@chrisbottoms6396 I have magic arms over a decade old that have been used in film work. Still going strong.
@BreakdownBoxesАй бұрын
considering the Shure A98D mount is $70 and only works with the Beta98, these are basically a bargain at $100 each.
@g3cdАй бұрын
This is not "like totally over-engineered", this is a regular "magic arm", available from Manfrotto and Smallrig for ages, just not for drums.
@itsstudiotimeАй бұрын
I'm talking about rim mounts for drums that are designed to be smacked and not transmit any vibration to the microphone, if that isn't obvious. Thanks for watching.
@johnvcougarАй бұрын
Well, this one IS for drums, and kudos to Lauten for coming up with it!
@JorgeCidMusicАй бұрын
For live sound? ok... in studio, nothing touch my drums. Bad idea!
@johnvcougarАй бұрын
Not such a bad idea, but fair enough. I’m a bit wanky about affecting tone, too. Be interesting to do some testing.
