Always enjoy your videos. I live in zone 8a in Georgia and it been blistering hot here too. Gardening is tough on the back and aging doesn't help. I moved to a patio home complex 5 years ago and the association rules only allow a max of 5 pots. I get the hot sun from noon until sunset. Petunias haven't done well this summer. 😎

Good evening. Love how the arch looks. You made my day cause it looked like you were climbing the one side of the arch to get it into the ground. Put a smile on my face. I was thinking you just had a shower now you might have to have another one. Excited about those sunflowers and how they will look. Enjoy the rest of your evening. See you tomorrow.

I dream of Bermuda grass being banned as an invasive species. Controlling it takes an incredible amount of backbreaking work. Be good to your back and be careful of the heat. In Zone 8 upstate South Carolina, I got sick yesterday working in the garden. Even an addicted gardener like me knows to go inside when I start to throw up. AC works miracles.

Funny you should mention Bermuda grass. I have St. Augustine here in FL (9B) I spent 2 weeks digging out all of the underground runners of invading Common Bermuda in my beds. 60 feet!! It helps a lot. Some of it is still there, of course. But it is manageable. It's still a never-ending task to watch for pop-ups! I thought I was gonna die in that humid heat. I feel your pain!!!! You did a great job!!!! And I sure won't forget the pre-emergent this fall for the other weeds. lol

I forgot to plant my sunflowers...you just reminded me so time for me to find my seeds and get them out in the garden. I am always looking for a lovely garden arbor so I will be interested to see how this one holds up for you. Do you think it would be sturdy enough for heavy snows?

I think you would need to add additional stakes in the ground to stand up to heavy snow.

Bermuda grass is the stuff of nightmares 😳 I've done weed screen and cardboard and mulch around my raised beds and the grasses just keep coming. I really don't want to, but I think I'm going to have to go with weed screen and rocks. It's going to be so much work and so expensive, and I'm worried the grasses won't care and grow anyway 😭🤣

Bermuda grass is invasive. It’s used for its heat and cold tolerance and low water needs. It’s no fun to walk on, with its rough texture and to eradicate … Hope your back feels better soon. A strong core makes a big difference. All the lifting and bending isn’t placed on the spine.
