I have same guitar. It’s basically ESP Eclipse II clone, and build quality is very good. After setup and shielding of control and switch cavities, it’s great guitar. I highly recommend shielding and nut adjustment, these small mods will move this guitar to next quality level.

If you're someone like me that was looking for a platform to mod, the HB SC-1000 is your guitar! It's really cheap but the quality of the body, neck and f inish, well, I can't say enough about it. I gutted the whole thing (including hardware cuz I went gold) and put passive pups. The guitar I received was flawless, not sharp fret ends, no finish issues. Now I have decided I want to revisit active pups and, of course, the guitar is ready. I will install an EMG 57/66 set, locking tuners and a Stetsbar. It puts a smile on my face every time I see it. And unlike a Les Paul it balances well.

I have since decided to keep the Entwisle HDN set I installed and not swap them out for the EMG 57/66 set.

Damn thats a nice guitar. I love the Harley Benton guitars. A good option for this particular shape would be the SC Custom II with EMGs. Also makes cleans a bit easier i think. A SC550 II Plus would also be really good but it looks a lot different. Damn you make that guitar sound really good, it sounds very good for black metal stuff.

Excellent review. May i know if the model u got is made in Vietnam or Indonesia? Been seeing mixed reviews on the QC like nut issues, fretwork, binding on the earlier model issues, do u face any of them?. Otherwise it definitely sounds great for the price

I'm concidering buying this guitar cause i really want an eclipse style guitar and I'm currently on a tight budget. This one in matte black looks like the perfect ec1000 clone. Making some modifications later on like the tuners, maybe the bridge and tailpiece and definently the pickups at some point. I'm just worried about the problems that might occur because a good 200 euro guitar is too good to be true and sometimes what you pay is what you get.

I thought the same thing before I got my first "cheap" Harley Benton guitar. I can definetly tell you: the low prices does not mean it is of low quality at all! If anything, I am super happy with the build quality of the HB guitars and basses I own. If I were you, I would just go for this guitar in matte black and then if you really want to, change the pickups first. The Hardware is really Solid and I have not had any tuning issues whatsoever (and I even played live on stage with this guitar and it stayed perfectly in tune). So pickups would be my first Upgrade next to some security strap locks. The Rest would be only for visual reasons.

Does it worth it since it'll be cheaper? I saw you in your recent Marduk cover playing with this guitar. Except for the cosmetics, did you perform any other modifications? Anyway, thank you again and sorry for bombarding you with all these questions. Keep up the good work and keep it coming! I hope for an Agrypnie tour and maybe visit Greece one time if possible. You are truly a gem in black metal and one of my main inspirations.

@@necrophades1585 no problem at all man! Always happy to answer any questions. Other than cosmetics I didn't change anything. Same pickups, same tuners. I did install some straplock pins though, but that's a must on all my guitars anyways... I've never been to Greece yet. Would be really awesome to visit some day!

HB guitars are really affordable. Specially for what you get for it. Personally i would stay away from the really cheap ones (sub 200) because its more hit and miss. But the top range guitars are insanely good for the money.
