Unbelievable tone, truly, in my personal opinion, the greatest sounding guitar I have ever heard. So after this review I dropped the $ and have me one of these, now I just need to learn how to play it. Would love to have this guy teach me. Amazing, just amazing.

Learn the major and minor chords. Then learn major 7 and minor 7 (those are "jazz chords" but they are in tons of songs). Then start learning simple songs using a song book or just Google a song: "Twist and Shout guitar chords". Done.

This is a great demo. Not overly fancy showing off, just gives a true idea of what different types of guitar playing sound like, including just a straightforward strum

Yamaha acoustic guitars are a great value and of excellent quality at all price points. Their higher-end guitars are on par with instruments such as Yairi, and boutique builds. These are serious instruments for serious musicians.

For sure. I think some will frown at the because it is a Yamaha. This guitar is a masterpiece.

Best review of this guitar I’ve seen. Thank you. Serendipity got me into a Yamaha store today and I asked the tech if Yamaha has any V-neck type acoustics. He said no. But make a long story short I fooled around with the FG9 R and I felt something truly profound. I asked if he was sure this was a C type neck. He said yes. But it felt different. It wasn’t until I got home and learned that it’s what Yamaha calls a rounded V neck. I knew there was something special about the feel of it. You’re great man. Thank you!

I purchased my first Yamaha guitar in 1972, it was a great guitar, for taking it to the beach or a party. I loved that guitar, it was perfect for what I wanted it for. I would not feel too bad if it got stolen or damaged. It was neither of both, just a trusty instrument. Now the FG9 is another story, like you said it has great intonation, it surely has great resonance. I would like to try one, someday. Thanks for the great review. with that I'm gone.

I have an FG830 and LL6M ARE. I am sold on Yamaha Guitars. There is just something about a Yamaha. That being said, the FG9 is in a class all its own.

Most dealers are willing to part with the FG9R for 3300 dollars. Priced well for the quality you get. I'm happy with my FG5. However, I think if I was to spend 4000 dollars, the Gibson Dove still my dream guitar. But this Yamaha FG9R is on the list, along with a Gibson Hummingbird, and a Martin D35. The FG9R is amazing to include it as equals to the guitars I mentioned

From everything I’ve watched and read, this model seems super loud, like the Martin Authentic 1937 model. Amazing, and for a great price

I bought a LL26 a while back, its an amazing instrument and im very pleased with it but THIS FG9 is calling my name!! What could i expect in differences between the two? Im kind of a nitro junky and wish the LL26 had a nitro finish rather then poly finish

Perhaps the best guitar review I have ever seen. Yet on headphones as with many other Adi-top guitars and every other review of this model, I hear too much harshness or screeching sounds for my taste. It's a very "crisp" sounding guitar. Those sparse finger-picking then funky lines really were my fav, I can def hear the sustain and sympathetic notes shine, truly remarkable. But in the end, at least on these KZbin recordings, sounds has just too sharp an edge for my style.

Japanese have the mindset to do something great. Even a cheap yamaha can't be qualified as shit. I had a 300$ one. Not the best I had cause now i have guitars costing 10 times that price. But they are 10 times better. And That high and Yam is just terrific.Yamaha doesn't let you waste your money. Sure value for the price, always.

Why do I always buy Martin, maybe it is the funny shaped Yamaha pick guard, the plastic truss rod entrance on the headstock or that strangely shaped saddle? I feel spoiled with a D18 and a reimagined HD28. Perhaps the FG9 sounds “better” or maybe it is cheaper; something about that name on the headstock when you reach the 4000+ regions. I just love Martin and I love your channel!!

Great video, but a true, balanced representation of the tone wound be NOT playing so close to the bridge all the time, or most of the time. Great playing though….😊

Very nice guitar. However. I don't know if it's the room or equipment, but it sounds sort of thin to me. That is in comparison to my D-18GE.

I’d say that’s because it’s being picked and strummed next to the bridge…..way back, much further back than I play personally…..gives a much harder and pronounced treble tone Makes a massive difference,

The worst customer service out their for a guitar company! Used to be the best....Got off the phone with them today....their website says you can order parts via the phone. Their CS reps say you can't and are rude....one was complaining how he was pissed about not getting paid much money and having to listen to complaints. Hey dufus, that's your job to deal with customer complaints! I have 4 yamaha's....never another!

That is a lot of money, especially for a Yamaha! They must be pretty confident in the build quality to slap a price of 4k on it
@normanhasler340
@normanhasler340 11 ай бұрын
@@pooner61 Yamaha builds them in Hamamatsu Japan. In the same little workshop, where the LL26 and above comes from. That means, they are made by a little group of master luthiers, supervised by a, i will call him a grand master luthier / senior master luthier, in a very tiny batch each year. So the ordering each year is very limited. In my oppinion, comparing the guitars by the craftmanship and built quality, you have to go on the level of martin custom, boucher guitars, collings or huss and dultons. So the pricing becomes very reasonable..

The film is clipped out right as he’s about to say what the back and sides are made of and whether they are solid, layered or laminated. Would have liked to have heard that part, as it is now this video is useless so not watching any more of it.
