keep in mind that some of these events were limited events and have long passes but they do sometimes bring back the events in an updated form. The lantern Right event is looking to be a yearly event. But things like the big rock dragon or the serenitea pot are permanent and will unlock later in the game.

The quests are divided into 3 category, archon quest (Wich is the main plot), story quest (about character), and world quest (about lore outside story, sometimes giving sneak peak of npc, etc) Some quest cannot be experienced before doing certain quest because it will spoil the experience, so yeah, you pretty much need to do it step by step at a time

In each version there are temporary events and permanent stuff added. A new expansion comes out every 6 weeks. We are currently on version 2.8 and next is 3.0 which will be out in just about 2 1/2 weeks.

I suggest that you watch the event stories of each version you've missed after playing for a bit longer and getting further in the story (either as reaction videos/streams or in your own time). Regretfully, a lot of them have interesting lore that is only available during each version and is no longer in the game itself. Of course, do as you wish. That teapot section with the changing architecture that is actually the player home portion of the game you can actually build entire cities just for your character that you can talk to and visit your characters in. So you can build and customize your own house however you see fit and invite characters to visit you

I’ve been playing Genshin since week 2 and have been enjoying catching your vids reacting to the game :) Tried to answer some of your questions that came up without getting into any spoiler territory below, hope it isn’t too overwhelming haha In regards to whether there’s an order for things: some story segments do follow a chronological order while others are more freeform but may have a few requirements. When you open your quest log, any story segment that’s also has the “archon quest” label is considered the main story and follows a mostly strict linear order. Quests found from various npcs throughout the world, “world quests,” can be done in any order. Quests tied to specific playable characters, “character quests” and “hangout events,” usually require some amount of progress in the archon quest but can for the most part be done in any order (with a few exceptions that will indicate what you need to complete first). Access to some areas in the game also depends on your progress in the archon quest The trailers that came out before the game’s release teased some characters who weren’t available right at launch (like Xiao, as you noticed). So anytime a character appears alongside their name in a version trailer, that’s a good sign that they first became available to play in that release. 4 star characters become permanently able to be obtained once they’ve been added to the game, while 5 star characters you can only try to obtain in versions where they’re featured (with the exception of “standard” 5 stars who are always available in each version of the game: Diluc, Jean, Qiqi, Mona, and Keqing) Also the “coming soon” segments at the end of the trailers that highlight new stuff have a mix of permanent and limited event content so some of those and the story event segments within trailers you’ve seen have already passed. Some of the event types (gameplay and certain seasonal ones) have repeated in different versions but none of the limited-time stories have been “rerun” / returned. To highlight Lantern Rite specifically (the event with fireworks), it’s usually run around Chinese New Year each year and, as the “choose one” screen in one of the trailers suggested, during that event you can choose a 4 star character who’s from the Liyue region to keep. Every now and then we’ll get other events that reward players with a specific 4 star character, like the current version’s event which can give you a free Fischl There are some YT channels that have posted vids of all the cutscenes and dialogue from past limited story events so those could be fun to checkout as you progress through the game. I can try to return to and edit this comment to mention at what point in the story (chapter-wise) it’d be worth viewing the different events, based on what the actual in-game requirements were at the time :)

Just a tip for new players: If you're finding it hard to manage the quests available at this point in time, there's a section in the Adventurer's Handbook which organizes them under the "Guide" tab. This will make sure you do quests in their intended order so that you won't have intermingled quests due to an NPC/Character being busy with another quest/s. For content creators tho, you might need to do some research if you want to prioritize Archon, Story and World Quests.

so id say the content you saw is half permanent story and half events, stories stay in the game for good, as part of the main or side quests, but events just stay for a while and then so far at least, rarely seen again. the summer time islands for example were an event last year, but they came back this year again for the summer, (they are still around for a bit over 2ish weeks). They will probably come back again next summer, its generally just a summer event. Its currently the only limited time area, all other areas in the game were added permanently.

The trailers show off a combination of new permanent quests, new locations, new characters, limited time events, etc. Honestly, with the voice acted events, sometimes it's hard to tell if they're permanent quests or limited events in the trailers. I do wanna say, if you start a limited event that has voice acting in it, you should pay attention because they tend to reveal lore in those events, to varying degrees. For example, in version 2.6, we had the Irodori Festival event in Inazuma, which seemed like it would just be cute fun little stories, but then it ended up revealing the truth about something that happened to the Kamisato and Kaedehara clans a long time ago. What happened back then damaged the clans' reputations, and even Ayaka, Ayato, and Kazuha were affected by it despite it being generations ago. And of course, there's the very first voice acted event, Unreconciled Stars, which happened way back in version 1.1. That event left a lasting impression on the community.

Now you're at it, you might as well watch the Teyvat Chapter trailers as they are also more intriguing than spoiler-y like the We will Be Reunited one. They're formatted as teaser trailers for a reason, it is to generate hype and anticipation. However, the Interlude teaser one, it's best to watch until you reach Act 2 Chapter 3 in the game. Edit: Honestly, Sumeru is already out by the time you reached Act 2 so might as well coincide it with Act 3 instead.

To answer your question about Xiao, he was in the beta for the game and for some reason they put him in the "state of play trailer" but he wasn't in the game until version 1.3. Additionally there are several four star characters from when the game launched that didn't get character demos. Also, sadly a lot of things in the trailers are limited time events. Other than story events most events to come around again eventually. Most of the stuff shown at the end of the trailers are usually limited time events.

Yess the characters have wonderful personality, lore and actually good interactions with us players and this makes them feel so special and alive. The only "sad" detail is that it would be cool to see them as NPCs in random locations from time to time just to make them feel even more alive, but unfortunately it's not the case unless there is a certain event or you are doing a quest. Anyway I really enjoyed your reaction :)

I believe the total area of land mass in the game is about the same size if not slightly larger than breath of the Wild but definitely so if you include the explorable ocean areas and underground areas. However all of that explorable area only accounts for about 10% of the total size of the game that is yet to be released

Nice u to see u watch these as well, though u missed the 1.1 trailer, but that might be for the best, couse u'll not see any spoilers for the Liyue Archon quest. One thing to always keep in mind when watching version trailers is that they tend to be intentional misleading so don't take them at face value. As for whats permanent in Genshin as a whole: 1. new regions and subregions, like Inazuma and Dragonspine, with the Golden Apple archipelego being the exeption. 2.Character story quests and Hangout events, who tell u more about 5 star and 4 star characters respectively. 3. The Teapot, your own sandbox where u can put almost anything! from a nice herb garden to making your own town. 4. New bosses. and thats it pretty much it,while they might do reruns of certain events, they are always for a limited time, and that includes events that allow u to earn unique weapons or minions.

Expansions would be the major version changes like 2.0 and soon 3.0. The X.1, X.2, etc are more akin to DLC. Some, but not all have new zones. Most, but not all, have new characters.

All of these expansions are permanent additions to the game because the game world is so big they have to finish it in chapters however the stuff you see at the end of these trailers are the temporary events that came with these add-ons. So the characters and additions to the world are permanent and the quest that came with them but the special events are temporary and this is only because the game was originally intended for mobile so they try to save people's memory card space

You had asked if there is an order in doing stuff. For the important things. The quests are called Archon and those are the priority quests that are in complete order of story and lore. There will be story and world quests that go along with those priority quests that you’ll want to make sure to do along the way. It is truly a world of its own and sooo much fun. Especially some of the things you can do in co-op and getting help beating those big bad weekly bosses. My daughter is farther in the game than I and she helps me do quests that you can do in co-op.

2.8 is the rerun of the summer islands in 1.6 but with different stories, so there's not much to show for the trailer. Lots of contents and elaborated stories. If they show more it'd be spoilers too. I don't think you can do this event in time with your current pace, but that's totally fine! Pls don't rush. You can react to these limited events later on yt. Yes, you have to experience all the quests in order due to it following a main plot line. However, there are events that come and goes. So far, Genshin hasn't done any rerun to any of the events they put out so it's safe to say they will not do it in the future either. These event stories aren't too important so no biggie if you miss them, but many of them are heavily related to some of the characters you can pull in the game.

If you ever get stuck in side quests or main quest/archon quest you can just search the quest name on KZbin to get the idea of how to solve it. It only will help you in your future gameplay just trying what the quest is saying you to do for example there was a quest like:- "Solve the puzzles (0/3)" just search it in KZbin and you can find how solve it. As it can save time and help you to get out of annyoning and hard quests missions just a suggestion

The numbers in the version trailers is the date the update version 'goes live'... Like Xiao's 1.3 'All That Glitters' (And yes, that was the point when Xiao was released). 2/3 is February 3rd. Windblume was a cute and relaxing filler version. Yes there are a lot of timed content... Theatre Mechanicus has been released three times now (a Tower defense domain game - those totems are 'mechanici'(spelling? idk...) that you place to prevent enemies from 'escaping' the domain. The sad thing about the timed-release events is that there are a LOT of lore drops! The Azhadaha thing is actually Zhongli's second story quest!

You will notice the character if its 5* every EB or elemental burst they use have animation skills and if you are trying to change your character they have yellow backround. Its the same as pulling them in banners 3* blue 4*violet/purple 5* yellow. Kazuha and klee's banner end already 5* character are limited means you can only get them if they are available, sometimes it takes a year to get them and other events are limited too so you can't experience them. Ps. Except permanent banners the only 5* that you can get are qiqi, jean,diluc,mona and keqing. The 5* weapons you can get them all permanent banners but small chances.

You may already know this, but genshin impact has a "pity" system in their Gacha/summoning of characters and weapons. This means that you get a 4 ⭐ weapons/characters within every 10 summons while 5 star char between every 75 to 90 summons (5 ⭐ weapons pity is 65 to 80 while others are 3 ⭐ weapons)

the lantern rites videos is a yearly event and the cutscenes is changing every year so you can actually watch it and don't spoil your self because you will never experienced it in the first place so it's more of a recap of the events that you missed during that time.

Some of this stuff is temporary but you can watch it on youtube. It is a shame because some of the best quests in the game are temporary like Shadows Amidst Snowstorms. The first Golden Apple Archipelago was also amazing which was a series on mystical islands that were only there for a bit over a month. It really felt like you were on an adventure exploring a mysterious place. The music was also amazing which was also temporary. One of my favorite tracks from the game was from the GAA. It is incredible to me that they release these full fledged expansions with large landmasses that cost millions of dollars to develop and then just remove it forever.
