I'm having a ton of fun with this game. I love to see more games in this subgenre. No game is out to kill the other or monopolise a genre, that is unhealthy and saying these aggressive things is disrespectful to both the Phasmo and GHC devs. Why can't we enjoy both? I know very few people are actually saying things like this but I've already seen plenty before I even uploaded this video. You'll be seeing a ton of Ghost Hunter Corp videos coming to the KZbin in the next days. THAT DOES NOT MEAN I stopped playing Phasmophobia. Obviously. Love you all!

That's always a thing i think Phasmophobia needed the most, Okay you gather evidences, you identify the ghost type for the exorcists to clear the place but when does the cleansing takes place ? Maybe something like playing "cleaners" or "investigators" and the cleaner team would have to rely on the proof the investigators previously collected to put in place some sort of ritual tu banish the ghost that would be awesome but would require a ton of work.

Can't wait to see Markiplier running to the door of the truck and then Wade just shut it on him so all you hear is Mark's scream get louder and louder until it cuts out. Something similar happened when they played Phasmo except the ghost shut the front door of the house and all you could hear is Mark screaming through in-game voice chat as he slowly went up the stairs his voice slowly got quieter I think. This looks so fucking cool actually. I agree that having more games in the same genre is always best for the players since one pushes the other to be better, and while I don't like comparing games since each one does/wants to do a different thing I'm glad to see that this one has some stuff that I've wanted and saw other people asking for in Phasmo. Things like strong banging on walls/doors like its usually in horror movies, and 'messing with the van' or the cameras, it makes some good scary moments.

2:06:25 - It's called a "frost heave". It happens when there's moisture in the ground too close to the surface, then it gets cold and the water freezes, expanding as it turns to ice and "heaves" the ground upwards. Even after the ice then melts again, the heave stays behind as the ground underneath is no longer compacted. We're quite familiar with this in Canada, and frost heaves can be really....really nasty. I've seen frost heaves that look like a landslide took out the road, heaves several feet tall. It's quite common to have large heaves around old castles since they didn't fully understand the concept of frost heaves, and often failed to have proper ground water drainage around the foundation. So you get water accumulating around the foundation/wall from rain, or groundwater, get a deep frost, the heavy wall doesn't like being pushed up, so the water pushes to the sides as it freezes creating large heaves around the wall. This is also dangerous for the stability of the wall, so one of the first steps in restoring old fortifications is fixing ground water drainage. Civil engineering is all the cool little things lots of people wouldn't think of but matter so, so much. That being said, this isn't a well reconstructed fort. There's so...so much wrong in the design. The biggest and most immediate problem is there's a whole lot of very large outfacing windows. You can't have openings that large facing outside of the fortification, that's just silly. They're even massive at ground level, which is just an open invitation into the structure. You can get away with bigger windows higher up in something like a fortified manor house, but not at ground level. The frost heaves are a little detail done right, but so much else is done wrong =p

A good way to keep people from just spamming all different exocisms without gathering evidence could be to just buff the ghost and make it stronger/faster/more agressive everytime someone tries the wrong exorcism tool on it. That would be fun.

Looking at the thumbnail and name of the game I was a bit worried that it was gonna be a Phasmophobia rip-off, but this is actually really interesting! I hope it goes well for the game and dev I understand the people that say that the dev ripped off Phasmophobia, but I disagree with them. This will bring more competition, and it is its own game. Exorcisms aren’t in Phasmophobia, and the only similarities is that you use equipment to find evidence against ghosts and you can identify the ghost. Even if the dude got inspired by Phasmophobia and adds a few things from the game, like taking photos and getting stars. It doesn’t mean that they’re ripping the whole game off.

Just finished watching the first hour and i really love this game! Really looking forward for it to come out. I think even though the genre is the same between this and Phasmo, I will always appreciate phasmo for it's capacity of making you feel happy when you get the ghost right and earn a lot of money, i feel like this game invested more in the fear factor by taking the exorcism thing as the main goal. I really hope both games can coexist because they're both really good in their own way! Great content as always Insym!

@@hardboiled2987 In Phas the whiteboard often mentions that there will be a team that will visit the house after the players (aka the investigators) to exorcise the ghost. So maybe that's why it's unfinished. And so the GHC players come in to exorcise the ghosts and that's why they are hella aggressive. GHC just feels exactly like a sequel to Phas to me. As long as both games improve their games but retain their game objectives, it's a big win for us consumers because we get the best of both worlds. It will also be interesting to see if anyone else decides to join the competition but also brings something new to the table with an entirely new objective.

Yall got to keep in mind that Phasmaphobia uses Unity Store models. That's why they look the same. Many games can and do have similar, if not the SAME models, because they buy them as assets. Competition is good, really good. I play War Thunder, which has no real competition right now and the devs have gotten lazy. This will put a head on the issue as a real attempt to break into the market, making Phas put out more content and features. Consumers are the winners here.

@@pixxlated_ As was Phasmophobia. There may have been some translation errors, but George is probably right. And it doesn't mean George is dissing the game, but the English was poor on most things. I understand it's PRE-Alpha, and will be launched in a week, but that's the point of these pre-release keys: To get more gamers to play it, by letting popular streamers have first rights at the game, and to get feedback on said playthroughs to see what should be patched/fixed. The English will most likely be patched come July 16th. If not, it's all good. It's still not a "fully-released" game, and will basically do what Phasmophobia does. It'll be hard to see a Dev work as hard as Dknighter, as he is 100% passionate about making Phasmophobia a great experience, but from what we see so far, I believe they are passionate about their game as well.

fun fact: in multiplayer, other players can drag your unconscious body back to the van, and it gives that player more money than what theyd normally get after dying(i think its like 50%) Also, if you leave without exorcising the ghost, all equipment that isn't in the van is lost... Whenever a new game of a small genre comes out, everyone says it'll kill the other stablished title. It's happening to this game and Phasmo and it happened to Temtem (with some people calling it the Pokemon Killer). It's harmful, because it creates the mentality of "you're either on this side or that side" and gaming isn't about that. People can enjoy more than 1 game of the same genre. I had a blast playing Temtem, and loved the multiplayer aspect of it. Does it mean I prefer it to Pokemon? No, I like both of them. They have their pros and cons and that's the beauty of the free market (when it works): having a variety of options to fulfill a need. It's very healthy to see such a young subgenre receiving this much attention and competition so early on.

Seeing how the demon ghost attack, it seems like the best way to avoid that attack is to memorize the book so when the ghost starts chasing you at least can keep speaking all the words in the book without interruption from the demon spirits :3

This looks like a very fun game and I'd love to see more of it! Phasmo has its charm and this game has its too. I think the two games are distinct enough where there shouldn't be a problem for people that "they are too similar" or "it's a copy", they are games in a, let's say, "ghost hunting" genre, not to mention ideas like emf and spirit box existed way before phasmophobia. While I can see the resemblences, I don't think it matters too much, the games are quite different from one-another, and they offer a different experience. I hope you'll make more episodes, this seems very fun, hope you'll get people so you can play together.

I totally agree with you, i love both games and i kinda like GHC more just for the fact that is more scary in my opinion but Phasmo is just like OG and i love it but still everyone has their own opinions so is normal for people to like one more than the other but both games are amazing and can co-exist together but if they fuse or collab it would be the ultimate ghost game in my opinion plus GTA and Saints Row are similar concepts but both exist and same with many many other games not just those two or phasmo and ghc or any horror game, people can like diff games no matter what and there will never be any problems with that or at least shouldn’t be! :D

Seen it on stream and I have kinda mixed feelings about it. I know that this and Phasmo are two completely different games and I agree, but on the other hand it is definetely inspired by Phasmo (basically it includes stuff that some Phasmo fans were asking for) and will be a serious competitor. Phasmo is love of my life, but this game is in Pre-Alpha and already has so much more content. I am so torn. I guess the best way is just to enjoy both

It definitely does not have more content. I think that's the main detractor right now. There are only 3 maps and 5 ghosts and only a handful of different ways to exorcise the ghost. I LOVE this game from my first experience don't get me wrong. But I am a bit worried about the lack of variety

@@Insym I think that as it is wouldn't be bad for like a 5-10 dollar game. I wanna see how it'll grow within the next couple of months before I make a purchase tho. It definitely has a good spooky factor but it's hella complicated which is why phasmo brought so many people to it.

@@Insym Please do not get me wrong, by more content I did not mean the number of ghosts and maps, but rather the gameplay features and tasks. It has Evidence and Ghost type + on top of that the main dish, which is the exorcism. And since it is pre-alpha and already is so much fun, I am sure that the variety will come very soon :)

@@Insym I wouldn’t worry about it. There’s so many variables and items that the dev could easily expand at any time. The combinations of evidence are already vast enough to provide for quite an overwhelming amount of exorcising prayers and actions, the uniqueness of each ghost type means new ghosts are always on the table, and various items means you can have several different combinations, meaning challenge runs have great potential. If anything, I’m just concerned about mapmaking.

The game seems a bit questionable with 4 players. 4 players could carry all the ghost exorcising items and just wait for the ghost to show up and hit it with everything. Seems kind of easy. Also as cool as the ghost chasing you back to the van is, it makes it feel kind of easy if you can run away like that.

@@Argol228 actually Oni is like a Japanese Demon and Yokai i don’t really know for sure but as far as i know is like a normal Japanese Spirit or semi different but not demonic spirit i guess so those are real ghost type names just probably their evidence on Phasmo might not be so accurate mostly cuz Onis are like Samurai ghosts and on Phasmo they have just regular ghost character designs

Good precaution against just randomly throwing any item you can at ghost without looking which evidence you may have would be some penalty for using wrong evidence. Like making hunts more aggresive or bigger chance to break the van doors

the mechanic with reading the holy book out loud is very interesting, and the fact that it probably triggers the ghost to hunt you is even better, damn I really like that, it's making the game mooore intense. The only issue I have with this game rn is sprinting mechanic (it's just bad lol, stamina is nonexistent)

Only the coloured smoke mean that you do a exorcism task "for this" ghost, when you see grey smoke that mean you do a exorcism task but it dont applie to the ghost
