Hey all, Ignazio Vagnone from Jensen Speakers here. First of all, thank you for your nice words about our beloved Jensen Blackbird 40 speaker series, featured in both Falcon amps... You're right, they fit this kind of tones just like a glove. The Blackbird 40 has a unique "Reinforced Alnico" magnet technology, that allows us to supercharge the magnet, about 30% more than a traditional one. This donates more efficieny, tighter bass range and an overall more robust and controlled tone. Everything else is just what you heard: fantastic amp design and build by the Mesa boys, pure tonal heaven. We're so proud and honored being part of the Gibson Falcon amps project! If anybody wishes for more info and tech talk about the Jensen Speakers. just hit me... I'm always glad for a bit of tech talk!

Sorry anybody associated with this amp has lost credibility in my book. It's a $299 amp with a typical garbage modern PCB circuit design. If I was a retailer I wouldn't even carry this amp, my credibility with my customers is worth more

I think a lot of people don’t realize the indigenous music scene in southwest Missouri. Not just talking about the shows in Branson. I descend from a long line in Taney county. Coming of age in the 1970s, there were folks in the backwoods with vintage Gibson, Martin and Fender gear who could seriously play. The Ozark Mountain Daredevils, the highly underrated Granny’s Bathwater band, Fools Face and others from up in Springfield. Superb players from there like John Strickler, Jason Lemaster, Bill Brown (RIP), and many others.
@naterevolution9 ай бұрын
Amen to that! There are so many amazing players in this part of the world. I am constantly blown away by how much talent is in the Springfield/Branson area. Once upon a time, the Ozark Jubilee was the place to be for country stars before the Grand Ole Opry. I also believe that this area is about to see a major resurgence. Lots of amazing things are happening down in this neck of the woods! Thanks for watching and thanks for your comment.🙏

19:20 -- *this* is why you buy a guitar with P90s. That clean sound right there. Nothing else can do that quite as well. God, that sounds so good! And through that amp?! Wow!! I definitely want one of these amps -- I'm thinking a Les Paul Special and the Falcon 20. Love the 5, no doubt, but I think the 20 is the one for me. Amazing clean tones when you want them, but it can blast the distortion as well as any other guitar/amp combo out there -- and no need for a pedal!! I am 100% going to buy one of these as soon as I can afford it!!

Remember, the 5 isn’t 5 watts nor is the 20 actually 20 watts. They’re more like 7 and 13 or so, respectively. So besides that negligible 3dB difference, most of the difference will be the low end from the larger cab.

I have a 1960 Gibson GA-18T Explorer, obviously this is a reissue of a different model, but visually and sonically they are quite similar. The reverb is a nice upgrade, as is the power attenuator and line out. Sounds great clean and with a touch of breakup, but tends to fall apart with the volume cranked.

I've got a Fender Twin Reverb 65 reissue, and a Fender Blues Deluxe. I have a Gibson ES335, and I like the BB King tone but cant get them. It seems like my D and G strings are muddy compared to B and E. I don't use pedals. Any ideas?
@naterevolution9 ай бұрын
Thanks for your comment! This is a great question. Without having it right in front of me, I’ll have to give you a list of some things to try: change the strings. Also, has your guitar had a professional set up? that might fix the problem right there. It might need to be plek’d. (all guitars would benefit from a plek n my opinion) How is your EQ set? Is there any other pedal in the signal path that is perhaps creating a counterproductive tonal quality? At the end of this video, we have a number that you can call if you want to reach out to us. We’d be happy to talk to you over the phone. We are here to help my friend! Give us a holler. 👍

does this amp have point to point hand wiring? or does have a printed circuit board?
@naterevolution9 ай бұрын
It is made in the USA, it is not point point, but there are a lot of amps in this price range that are not point to point that are fantastic amps.👍
@noslen9549 ай бұрын
Fender had does something that's very interesting. They now sell a series of amps that are point to point. They have a Princeton that is point to point that is twice as much as the Princeton with the printed circuit board. Point to point amps sound much better than amps with PCBs. That's why the old Fender amps sell for big bucks. There's even a guy down in Texas that puts these PCB amps back to original specs of point to point.
@7171jay9 ай бұрын
@noslen The term point to point doesn't really apply to Fender amps as vintage ones and the handwired series are turret board or sometimes call tag board but you are correct that they are not circuit board (PCB) construction. An amp with circuit board can be made very well or not so great as most modern ones are. With a price tag of $1799 I'd say the Falcon 20 construction could be anything from sort of decent to not so great considering that a normal Fender Deluxe Reverb reissue goes for about the same price while the "handwired" version of the Deluxe goes for $3000. The Gibson Galcon 20 claims to be "handcrafted" whatever the hell that means exactly. I seriously doubt you are getting turret board for $1799 but there are many details to a circuit board amp that could go either way at this price point. An amp being built with a turret board vs circuit board doesn't necessarily mean a big difference in sound quality but it can have a big difference on how well an amp holds up and how easily or not it is to repair when it does need to be repaired. BtW an original 60s Gibson Falcon is turret board construction with just a few components that are point to point.

I'm hearing 500 dollar amps that are being listed for 1500 and 1800 dollars. Hard pass. Gibson is wasting Mesa's productivity on these, when they've got such a backlog of orders to ship to the UK and Europe. But someone at Gibson wanted to warm up the nostalgia machine no matter whether it makes sense or not....
