I use safari on a mac and an iPad and i have got the new features but not the new UI/design…do i just wait for the next iPadOS update so that safari updates or just wait and maybe google will just update for WebKit (safari’s engine)??

You turn on attendance tracking in settings and host controls. Then it will send you spreadsheet of who has attended.

Choose Present Now and choose A Chrome tab. It will then allow you to choose a Chrome Tab to present. You can choose an open tab (e.g. My Drive) to play videos directly from Google Drive, or if you had KZbin open. Choose the tab and click Share. It defaults to Share Audio. You will see a message telling you that the tab is shared. Also there will be a blue rectangle on the tab you are sharing. Make sure to mute your mic while playing a video to avoid any additional background noise. Start playing the video, and it will play to participants with sound. Hope that helps!

I want to use Google Meet to work with clients on software training. Can I display the software - and use the software in the meeting for the client to see how to do what we might be working on?

Yes you can if the software is on your computer. Just open the software and then on the bottom of your Google Meet screen, click "present now" (the upwards arrow with the square around it) and then select share whole screen. Click your screen and then the meeting will be able to see whatever you see when you flick back to your software.

I will probably never have a Google Workspace account, but I would really enjoy using all the “pro” features. I don't get it why there's no simple subscription to get all the advanced features as simple user...

You can be a single user and have any Google Workspace tier subscription if you want - there are no minimums. But you may be paying for some products that you don't need if you are one person using enterprise tiers.

Hi Farida, thanks for the question. You can see all the different types of layout to choose from when you select "settings" and then "change layout". You can then select the one that suits you the best and instruct others on your team to do the same. I hope that helps. -Charlotte

Hangouts is now gone. For google there is just Google Meet for video calls and Google chat for instant messaging. Duo is a google app but it is only for consumer use. It is not available on Google workspace business accounts. - Fintan

That means you are not on a Google Workspace plan that has the recording feature. It is only available in Business Standard upwards. If you are on Business Starter, G Suite Basic or a personal @gmail.com account then you will not have the recording feature.

Great video! I have a question. My father was teaching using google meet. 50min into teaching he said a tab popped up altering to the google meet was ending. His class was from 9am-10:40am. At 10am the google meet closed and I was unable to restart the google link. I have set this link to be used for his entire semester. Do you think I have to delete this link and create a new one?

That sounds like he is using a gmail account as opposed to a Google workspace business account. The personal google accounts have a 60 minute time limit from when the meeting starts. - Fintan

The email address does not appear unless you were invite via a calendar appointment. If you only have the google meet url there is no way to know who owns it. - Fintan

Hi Athena, If you go down to the bottom of the Google Meet screen you should see a button with 3 vertical dots - click on that and then select "change layout" select an option that includes your tile. You can also "pin" yourself by hovering over you in the attendance sidebar and clicking the pin.
