this is what i dont understand. I have one ARC port for example and that connects to my sumsung frame tv box, which has HDMI to everything else. Can i put it in the middle of that to capture all HDMI devices from PS4 / Switch / Shield etc. 1. Will it work with all of those devices by doing that? 2. @@nathanielcarew8668I don’t have a frame any more but is the arc and the hdmi 120hz the same port? I remember the gaming port on my version. Normally you’ll have a 120hz and a separate ARC port. It’s actually a really good option for something like my Sony TV because you get a 4 port 120hz hub built in. At the moment I have to use a manual switch to swap consoles.

No TV version in the U.K. yet sadly. I’m tempted by the PC one as it’s actually really useful to have a wireless 4 port hdmi hub when HDMI is often limited. It’s a shame that there is no displayport on that version.

Just ordered mine , I’m wondering does it support Dolby Atmos audio pass through ? I have a Sony A95L the flagship sony tv, paired with a SONOS Arc + 2 Era 300s and a Sub gen 3 sound system. I want to be immersed with the Govee dream view with this sync box, Dolby vision picture , and Dolby Atmos. But they do not mention anything about audio pass through ? @@artur9266 It's not processing any sound. Your receiver or sound bar is going to process the sound. However, I have the HDMI 2.0 version of this sync box and it does not support soundbars. It does however have support for an AVR. Not sure if the new one supports soundbars though.

The LEDs turn off in dark scenes but sometimes colors appear that aren't even visible on the screen. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get the problem under control using the settings. In general, it's very common for the LEDs to show green or red tones that aren't actually on the TV. Perhaps this can be fixed somehow with an update.

I tried to reach out to govee for solution using the app using the "my issue" chat. but they just said sorry they cant do anything about it and that no firmware update is avaible. Also spoke with them through the phone but the person just told me to restart the sync box unplug everything and plug it back in. and if that doesn't work turn my phone off and on🤦‍♂️ then delete and re-install the app LOL and if that doesn't work email them directly LOOOOL. So In the. I just returned it and Got the fancyleds 2.1 instead. Still waiting for it in the mail

Im using a marantz cinema 60 to manage all of my hdmi inputs. Because of that, i would only have 1 hdmi ouput from the receiver to the sync box, and 1 from the sync box to the tv. I’m looking for a sync box that I can set up to subtle enhance my movie watching experience, so I want it to have a base color per scene/setting and then accentuate relevant effects (explosions, gunplay, lightsabers etc). The FancyLEDs have a setting that limits it to display only 4 colors at the same time that seems to achieve this effect. Does the Govee set have a similar setting?

Looks like I'm stuck with the camera, which is fine it works well. I have a really Niche sized monitor LG 45-inch wide screen, so even with the camera set up, there is nothing quite that size.😢 I'm pretty sure I can still do a straight light bar setup. I have the T1 for my TV, and I have no complaints other than I had to do some engineering with my really thin TV to get the camera to stay other than that it's been really good

Hi So my understanding and correct me if I am wrong that rgbicw "W" just means there's a dedicated light diode specifically for all white hues and has 75 lights per metre. Also anything RGBIC means you can have different segments have different colors and can display multiple colors at the same time. RGBIC can be also bright but are the white true whites and how does this cope with white and HDR blacks as on some lights its looks red or purple.Then there is rgbw 96 per metre that can also produce white light which can produce the more accurate colour and white light with high colour acurrancy while maininting brightness as the Govee looks washed out maybe a Govee firnware update would fix that or is simply limitation technology of the lights.Would love to see a side by side comparsion with FancyLED 2.1

I finally received my Govee AI sync box 2.1. I hooked the sync box to the hdmi eARC on my tv and the Sonos Arc to the sync box. And nothing was happening no sound. So I just hooked the sync box to regular hdmi and the Sonos Arc to the eARC. I don’t use my tv for gaming so i don’t really need 120hz refresh from the box. If anyone has better luck let me know maybe I did something wrong. There was another way I could have done it by using the Sonos hdmi adapter. I didn’t try it that way. But I believe when you use the adapter you loose Dolby audio. For me I won’t sacrifice sound for this.

This is not improvment.Fancyleds 2.1 is more versatile.As AVR user,one only need one 2.1 port and connect AVR and everything is working.No need for 3 hdmi which are dead in the water for AVR,Blu-ray or TV !!! I don t know what was Govee thinking with this. As a long time Govee user with over 2o producta and 50 lights, I must say,this is a step back.Was on the verge to change my T1 and T2 setups on tv "s , buy 2 floor lamps extra .But,now, Fancyleds looks like a viable option, and probably the best bang for buck...They just needed to do what competition did,but no.. Love the video, and it is super informative and good as usual !!

Yeah but that's the problem you don't see a lot of people talking about how it works with AVRs. Because I use an older one with my AVR but if there is no ARC then you lose your sound when you go in to internal apps. I want to know If those things work.

You can buy soundbar setups that are every bit as good as you avr setup for a fraction of the price. Govee must be dumb as hell for not catering to a basically non-existant market of people. 🤦🤡

I noticed the color being washed out too, do you think there's anyway to fix that issue? Also does this have the ability to shut off segments of lights in dark scenes? Lastly which is overall better Govee hdmi 2.1 or Fancy Leds hdmi 2.1?

Unless I'm mistaken. Having no auto switching hdmi is a no sale for me. Likewise It's a good concept and heading in the right direction but a lot of people watch more and more content through tv apps nowadays including prime and Netflix which would make this unviable as they offer better quality and support than say the Amazon firestick apps. Correct me if im wrong? Govee somehow needs direct access to tvs so we can ditch the camera that I'll be keeping for now

I have a media room full of Govee lights. Problem is I have a media closet with receiver and ceiling mounted projector. Is there a way to use a sync box to coordinate all of my lights with the projector? I have not been able to find any videos showing anything like that.

I prefer fancyled. The colors are very light IMO. A tip for those who use in build apps. Get a google streamer or any other android TV box. That way you'll still have your smart TV experience and imo a much better experience as you can install all missing apps like Stremio etc. For instance, i love samsung but i hate their OS.

Thanks for the review. I am new to this world and have a couple questions: 1) I understand it only works with the HDMI input and I wouldn't be able to use the native smart LG TV apps, but if I plugged in a roku or something and watched TV, would it sync to whatever is playing at that point? If not, would the fancyLED allow this or only a camera based system? 2) What does it mean that only AI works with gaming and not movies? What does that mean for movies? Thanks!!

1 - Yes it only works with devices connected via the HDMI ports so it will work with a Roku, this is the same concept as fancyleds but you wanted to use the apps running locally on the TV then get a camera based system. 2 - AI only works for key moments in certain games so for instance if a kill occurred or you died etc you'll see the lighting change to reflect that. In movies this type of functionally wouldn't make any sense in reality hence why it's not there. Hope this helps.

I used with my Sonos Arc and it did work but I only noticed recently after the review that some functionally went a little bit weird, like for instance if I casted a youtube video directly to my TV I couldn't control the volume on the soundbar from my remote.
