The real question should be "Why should I care about regular Pokemon when a D-Max/G-Max version will powercreep it. I already have strong raid teams. Tapping a screen has gotten boring for me. I appreciate the strategic element of Max raids.

@@loomnatinoscopers sure, but you still need D-Max mons before you can do G-Max raids. On top of that, there are some D-Max, like Beldum and Drilbur, that are so good that will still be relevant after all G-Max are introduced.

Machop is my example. Regular came out. I maxed it. Shadow came out. I maxed it. Now it has a dmax and a gmax. Why power up a dmax when it will eventually have a gmax? So annoying. If you can’t gmax a dmax pokemon then I don’t see a reason to power up a dmax that has a gmax form.

I don't think you need to hold off on every Pokemon or rebuild them once their Dynamax release comes out. Just like in raids, you'll want a select few of the strongest Pokemon that can handle each type and you're set. If you really want to use some random outclassed Pokemon in Max battles then sure but it is absolutely not necessary if you just want to win.

Since the nerf of remote raid pass, most of my leftover local community have lost interest in the game. Now no one around is interested in max raids, partially due to players not willing to start everything over again. I can imagine that introducing terastallize pokemon the same way as Niantic did with dynamax pokemon would be a nail in the coffin of this game.

As other people have commented, I believe they'll release Dynamax Candy/Max Soup as items. In the SWSH games the former powered up Dynamax Pokemon's Dynamax level and the latter turned Dynamax Pokemon into Gigantamax Pokemon, but I believe they'll add it to this game (for a fee I'm guessing) allowing non-dmax pokemon to dmax and dmax pokemon with a gmax released to gmax. Although I can see them not releasing this type of item for a while. Also I wouldn't be suprised if, like you mentioned, Eternatus is only released in G-max raids in a special event. Granted I don't think they'd release it before releasing these items (hopefully). I pray that they bring the remote feature to dmax battles regardless of the Campfire update. Excited for Mega Gallade/Audino and Grafaiai, as always, thanks for the content~

I think it unlikely they'd do it as such Mostly due to Tera being a universal feature rather than being tied to specific Pokémon Cause if they really want people to buy into it, they'd have to release Tera Mythicals and Legendries But I could be wrong, we are still like half a decade away from Terastallization, so isn't too much of an issue for a while

@@Kevinotw414 I don't think they would do Z Moves cause they are basically a single boosted attack, and due to how battles are not turn based, would not work Also not enough people care about Z Moves The gimmicks's popularity are in this order, from low to high, Z-Moves < Dynamax < Gigantamax < Terastallization < Mega Evolution

The problem is you cant tell people to not power up specially For raid meta mons. For example necrozma everyone has their level 40+ fused mon now but using the dyna logic that was a bad move since all the legends are dynamax capable. People just enjoy the game and level up your mons to make the game easier

The new future megas will be nice especially audino with its wonderful stardust amount per catch hope that's made more than a limited 3 hour duration to really compile dust! As for powering up it makes most sense only power up counters for the current battles, or the ones immediately proceeding it within the month it's more of a waste of dust just to have a lvl 40 or 50 way early when it's not necessary 😅 Like I'm only powering my Rayquaza I mega evolve, to go beyond lvl 40 up to 50 is because it's the top or very near top counter against mega latias.. and I believe latios too since they're the exact same types, with different stats

I don't have any Gmax Pokemon sadly, not enough activity in my area and not motivated enough to go somewhere for them. I will say though, at least they seem to be very common Pokemon so that if you have to power them up, generally very easy to have excess candy. Aside from Toxtricity.

For me it's just that there's no one who plays pokemon go so I don't do the Gigantimax raids and stick to doing the 1 star Dynamax raids there are groups around the problem is there's only so many hours in a day that I wouldn't have to inconvenience someone to take me to a location to meet up with people I used to go into the town close by to play pokemon go but things change it doesn't take much for my Instincts to tell me to stop doing whatever I'm doing I used to go to my sister's church because it has a couple of pokestops at it and there's another church close by that has pokestops and a gym I used to go to both then 1 day I went to the church close to my sister's and some random person asked me to take their picture at it immediately red flags because the person was in front of the school part of the church wanting the picture taken after that day I quit going to both churches and the town close by that I used to go to some guys were making comments when I was on my way home keeping in mind I was by myself and that was the end of my going to the town that's why I stay close to my place there's a gym by my place and a couple of parks that I go to and that's it the only time I go to the town close by is if I'm working or if I'm shopping and even then I don't go to alot of places I go to my local mall for work and I go to my local Walmart to shop that's it aside from that I stay home unless I'm with family or have appointments

I can think of Mega Gallade as really useful when they release a rare fighting type pokémon in raids (let's say Kubfu/Urshifu for example). You'll have a strong Psychic type mega to take down the raid and *also* a fighting type mega evolved mon to gain more XL candies

Honest question, Why is it that people find it a problem to power up 2 maybe even 3 Pokémon of the same species? Also if everyone leveled up 1 Dmax counter the raids would be 10x easier but when half of a 40 man lobby goes in with only stage 1 Pokémon that aren't leveled up. I don't see it as a 40 man lobby.

Predicted rewards: Candy: 39 candy total and Stardust: 20k - 25k stardust (depends on raid level) You can still earn more candy by doing more free raids and leaving pokemon in power spots or catch them in the wild for more candy. Also on going events may increase candy or stardust gains. D-Max and shadow pokemon power creeps normal pokemon. G-max power creeps D-Max pokemon. So normal and d-max pokemon are essentially only worth their catch candy. Then people like me with no community can't G-max, so everything except shadow pokemon is kinda irrelevant now. If atleast d-max battles was a little challenging, it might be something, but unfortunately it's not harder than soloing a lvl 1 raid.

Mega audino should have been one the first mega pokemon added to the game they took to long as when pokemon have a mega they are shiny boosted and it only has one form a lot of people missed out on getting shundo audino if they caught a hundo audino in the wild because was not shiny boosted.

I would have absolutely ZERO problems with the giga/dynamax system if we would be able to make our previously caught Pokemon able to Max evolve. Essentially what Niantic has done implementing the system this way, is make EVERY SINGLE POKEMON I've caught in the past 8 YEARS... totally OBSELETE. If every single Pokemon can dynamax then why power up anything that I've caught previously?! They will be out gunned every time by their dynamax counterpart. Everyone that has played for a decent amount of time and invested energy into this game hopes that they would never lose their account right???? From banning or otherwise. Welp too bad, looks like Niantic made that choice for you! Might as well start fresh! My excitement to open this app is at an all time low. Gg's, it was a fun 8 years.

Don't play Gen 10 - they'll release Gen 11 in a few years. Meh. Play the game in front of you, I say. That said, I don't power up ANYTHING unless I'm preparing it for immediate use. My raid teams haven't needed to change in a LONG time, so stardust was just piling up until Dmax was released. Max Battles are what Niantic wishes they did from the beginning. Being able to catch lvl 30-35 Pokemon in the wild, or even lvl 25 weather boosted Legendary Pokemon, makes it so easy to build raid teams if you have at least 4 people to raid with. Having Dmax Pokemon start at level 20 and requiring a TON of candy to fully unlock forces people to invest way more into the game than the raid system ever required. I wouldn't be surprised if they phase out raids altogether and Max Battles become the standard in a few years.

Sure but too many people ignore it. Also they mostly do old Pokémon. Kantos are in the game for 8 years. Nobodys needs same just for the sake of the species. So you just do your two free ones and call it a day. I really tried to do a forth Lapras but everybody left already because nobody of 28 trainers was willing to pay. Usually we do 10-20 raids at raid days.

The issue with max battles is they don’t allow Pokemon that can’t dynamax. It feels like you have to start over with a limiter that is max particles. And of course, they have to monetize them as well as max mushrooms.

It feels like the only reason you would need to do max battles is the future that is Eternatus. It seems Niantic doesn’t have any idea how to implement the mechanic outside of dynamax (raids, Rocket battles, PvP).

People dont realize that a lot of decision of gameplay/design is not 100℅ on Niantic but the higher-ups at Nintendo itself because they control the IP of Pokemon and anything Pokemon related. People can criticize the decision on monetization in the game it's fine but gameplay features you can't really blame them for it.
