The 6 inches deep strike strat does not prevent charging. You can deep strike a 5 man Purifier Squad and than drop 10 man in Crowe 6 inches away

I think dreadknights work amazing in this new grey knights detachment getting full re-rolls on that psilencer is really good for taking down things like medium infantry

For hallowed beacon, its likely 6 inches because they can still charge, and its not terminators because then if you had kaldor you could deep strike 2 10 man termie squads within 6 to charge.

Dread knight tech marine spam with this is absolutely nasty. You essentially make all your units reroll to hit under tech marines all the time. You dont get stragems for them, but they are strong. The leap frog of dropping a 5 man Purifier Squad in only to drop 10 and Crowe 6 inches into the newly hallowed 6 in bubble of the prior guys seems a little broken. You can still charge from it.

Notice that all the stategems are only 1 CP. This is great news for a faction with virtually no way to gain bonus CPs.

Little disappointed that none of the enhancements had no anti demon key word. But still interesting detachment.

I actually really like this detachment. The army rule is a bit meh since most everything is hitting on 2s and 3s but the strats have a lot of play to them, especially in the movement phase. Full rerolls to hit and wounds of 1 on a Dreadknight without having to give up advance and charge is great, just gotta make sure they're by a Purifier squad. The mortal wound strats have decent output and basically give you a 6 inch moveblock ability, A possible 6 inch charge every turn, and nerfing enemy charges has a ton of movement shenanigans play written all over it. Sure, it's not mega damage (or what I was really hoping for which was magic spells) but if you're a skilled player in the movement phase you can do a lot with these strats.

GK army has only 1 char who can lead purifiers, so for a detachment focused on them this is very bad, so exactly only 1 squad can get something from a leader, others can not: Army is expensive as hell so we need all movement things possible to be able to survive, this detachment is taking away mist fo deimos, Sigil, First to the fray, +1 to charge, so GMNDK is now very slow and much less useful for example. Get stratagem which then do not cooperate so well with other units as terminator or paladins I found this detachment even worse then original one and it is a little nerf for GK again.

Few mid ones so far. Dark Angels are meh, Assassins are terrible, Tzeentch is a pass.

This is easily in the top half, if not the top quarter of grotmas detachments released so far for competative play. Save the whining for armies that got actually bad detachments.

Purifier are such a bad unit. They usually die 1st round to some deathguard mortar. I really dont like this.

They really aren't bad, you just need to run 10 with crowe in a rhino or land raider. If they get to the fight then they absolutely nassacare since they have more Melee output per point than terminators and have a nasty anti infantry shooting weapon with 24 attacks total for the squad

@Munnstery "more Melee output per point than terminators" Disagree Termi+Chaplain = 530 points, 45 attacks, lethal hits after charge, +1 to w roll, can return 1 destroyed model in your command phase Pufi+Crowe+Rhino (the cheap version) = 415 points, 35 attacks, can re-roll the hit roll More attacks, +1 to w roll and lethal hits are better than rerolling the hit roll imo but that's subjective. I don't trust the Rhino to carry those squishy Purifier into battle, so I would take a Land Raider and thus they are too expensive compared to a termiblobb. Nah I stand my ground, they are a bad unit not worth playing, the new detachment is silly. You can't even castle up in your deploymentzone since NDK have low T and their ranged weapons have low S, they will lose shooting phase duels. That's all my subjective opinion, I'm not a very good player, you can do whatever you want.

@vegankowalski5193 I tabled a competitive aeldari list in 2 turns with the new detachment, Absolutely nothing to scoff at. Purifiers still have a 2+ armour save and can get a 4++ with 1cp. Ridiculously better shooting than terminators and only 1 less attack per model. Furthermore, your calculation didn't account for their ability. If you lose a single purifier they hit on 2+ for both Melee and Ranged in exchange for only 3 Melee attacks and 2 Ranged attacks (not counting the sb's because they do nothing). This massively boosts their damage output and I've had multiple games where this has happened. My purifiers have absolutely ruined my opponents multiple times since the new detachment released. Edit: when I said more Melee output per point. I meant the core squad, not with leaders. The chaplain obviously gives a big buff whereas crowe provides no Melee utility bar his pretty flukey sword.

@Munnstery Last time I played Puri was against World Eater 8 days ago. Against 2 Lord of Skulls and Angron, I didnt see his list before and went 1x10Puri and 2x5Prufi with the new detachment. He had first turn, advanced across the board and charged me with his angron, which I killed on my first turn. In his second turn he killed my whole army and Angron returned. From my experience, nobody plays Infantry anymore and when you do you lose hard, like I did. At my local group everyone plays 12/13T units, with little to no Infantry and without Terminators I won't stand a chance. That's why I always use 2xTermi blobs with chaplains and lots of NDKs

@vegankowalski5193 you just had a bad match there. Purifiers are anti infantry, and many factions have tough infantry (wraithguard, gravis eradicators, lychguard etc) in many of their winning lists. WE lists such as that one have few frontline infantry units, but you were running an anti infantry list. I don't recommend running more than 2 squads of purifiers in any list because too much of anything is bad. Particularly in grey knights, we are a very anti infantry faction already; purifiers are a massive boost to the capabilities of the faction but terminators should still be run over them since they are our main anti-tank which is a place we lack in. Additionally, the weapon keyword lethal hits is by far the best weapon keyword in the whole game as it can make a unit a threat against everything, not just what it has been designed to do well against. This is why (along with t5 which is slightly less important) grey knight terminators are *the* most powerful unit in the index. Also, NDKs are good everywhere. Advance and charge is really powerful (which is why WE are so good against slow factions)
