Thank you for the review. I look forward to trying it. But nothing beats the original Shalimar!

Thank you! Of course it's an emblematic perfume. These are their own little thought experiments

Original Shalimar is so good that I don't think any flanker would ever beat it.

Can't argue with that.. It's a legend

😮you speak so eloquently about perfumes, and its clear you have a lot of knowledge about them, that makes your channel truly interesting! I think you are best "fragrance critic" in the business.

Thank You, You are too kind.. but that's too big a praise. There are many bigger Journalists/professional critics out there. I just do this as a hobby 🙂

Wow, wow...Jasmine Jelk Sambac 👏 (our upscale Leis here in Hawaii, fashioned out of extremely, perfumey, "pikake" is a type of jasmine I believe...I wish you could compare it with others...wonder how unique it is) I would easily be one of those to collect each one in the Series and rate them!

Jasmine Jelk😂 I wish I could.. may have to come to Hawaii. Jasmine starts to stink after a while. Collecting all the Millésime.. let's see how many more they do🤔

Miss Jelk, please take my money 😂 I just ordered a bottle. I’ll probably make a video about it when I receive it on Friday. I like Jasmine. I really liked Cedre Sambac from Hermes by Christine Nagel and Jacques Polge’s Coco EDP by Chanel. I’m excited for it. Still need to try Alien…

Thanks for first impressions… if it goes to souffle side won’t be my favorite either. 😌

Yes, it's quite white floral.. still balanced by the soft amber.. maybe not as strongly feminine leaning.

Gosh Pradeep. How did you manage? I visited the Champs Elysées Guerlain this afternoon. I asked about the Shalimar Millésime Jasmin and the SA told me they did not have and that she did not know when it would be released.
@ScentZatura8 күн бұрын
Hi Sandra👋🏻 I actually asked at a Guerlain outlet in Lyon, when it's coming.. they said only OCT 28...also about the Pêche Mirage (only in 2025 it seems) after a few minutes, when I was about to leave, The SA Lady pulled out a tester and sprayed on the card and my arm, saying I am the first one to smell it there😂 It's also already on sale in some countries

I have never found a jasmine perfume that captures the stunning scent of real jasmine sambac. Even the absolute smells different (not as nice). It seems nature keeps some of the best things to itself. Have you smelt the other varieties of Jasmin sambac?
@ScentZatura7 күн бұрын
Yes, exactly! I have never been fully satisfied with a Jasmine Sambac Fragrance. Otherwise.. I have possibly smelled the Arabian variety

Pradeep, have you tried Shalimar Philtre? It's a fresher take on the original and one that I can use in the warmer seasons. I curious to see if there are any similarities. Thanks
@ScentZatura6 күн бұрын
Hi Michael, I haven't smelled Philtre in a while.. It was fresh citrusy vanilla from what I remember rather than Jasmin. May need to test again🤔 Cheers!

I’ll be honest when I say I don’t like how Guerlain does jasmine, because I love the natural jasmine, both sambac and auri varieties. I have some absolute (extracts) and I find that those are just perfection, which is hard to match or reiterpret. For that reason, I do not like the clean jasmine in Guerlain’s Jasmin Bonheur, one of my least favourites in the line, but I found the extract Jasmin Grandiflorum better, although still not revolutionary. I kind of have some hopes with this new Millesime, since it might put jasmine in a different setting but I do hope they kept the real spirit of jasmine.
@ScentZatura7 күн бұрын
Yes, I can totally see that. Guerlain Jasmine fragrances are too sanitized and polite. It's like they are too concerned about it getting too far to appeal to most people

@@ScentZatura I feel so, yes. I mean, it is such a narcotic flower, it demands a sumptuos composition. Or at least a different approach, like in Carnal Flower for tuberose.
@ScentZatura7 күн бұрын
Exactly, They just never go all the way. Speaking of Carnal Flower, I would have liked to see a take on Jasmine by Frederic Malle but unfortunately it never happened. I guess Superstitious is the closest he got.

@@ScentZatura Yes, FM stopped a little too early with the exploration of ingredients as heart notes, but surely it would have been interesting.
