Thank you! Doing this soon. Same exact set up Novo 24, Zuma and Ojai.

A little late to this but you did a great job of showing how to install the Zuma. I was a bit hesitant about having to use a drill but you made it look pretty simple so I’m gonna do it. As for the Ojai you should consider switching out the velcro for some dual lock. That’s what I use on mine. I’ve had the same piece on my board for three years and haven’t had to replace it. I probably will when I install the zuma though thanks again.

Pedaltrain makes a universal mounting kit that you could use for the Ojai.

thanks for the tutorial on mounting the zuma! with the Okai, had you considered turning it 90 degrees and mounting it on top of the underside bars ?
@paulmckeever Жыл бұрын
Hmm. No, I hadn't. Maybe I'll give that a whirl. I'll be adding lighting to the board soon, and that will require more outlets, so I've purchased a 3rd Ojai for the purpose. Cheers, Paul.

Great video, thanks, you just sold a Cioks DC7.

Hello MGF: I've no experience with Cioks products, but I can tell you that my experience with the Strymon power supplies has been flawless. Cheers, Paul.

Hahaha I was thinking the same. I already have Zuma and was thinking of getting another but the drilling is annoying. CIOKS dc7 it is

@@MelGibsonsFist actually I realized I could get the CIOKS 8 and connect it to the zuma, im getting one more input AND it’s cheaper. The future is cool

Thanks for the video, going to be using this as a reference to put together my own board soon. Just a brief question - when you drilled into the board, is it hollow? Do I just have to get through the metal, or do I have to get to a certain depth? Don't want to screw anything up! Much appreciated and I hope you're enjoying your pedalboard!
@paulmckeever Жыл бұрын
Hello Miles: Yep, it's hollow tubing. It's maybe 3 millimetres thick. Be sure to use a drill bit compatible with drilling into aluminum. You should anticipate that, as soon as the drill bit breaks through, the drill may quickly enter the tube, and maybe cause a small thump sound. There's no problem with that, but do keep your non-drill hand sufficiently free of the drilled area so that it does not come into contact with the drill. Enjoy!

Is it ok if is's upside down?
@paulmckeever4 ай бұрын
Well, in a sense, on my board, it *is* upside down (in other words, I installed it under the board, the the top of the power supply facing the floor...and it works perfectly fine). However, the brackets are rounded on the corners of the top-side of the power supply so, whatever you do, I think you'll have to keep the brackets where they are designed to be.

The mounting kit come with the zuma? Or you bought it separately
@paulmckeever Жыл бұрын
The mounting kit was purchased separately. There's a kit available for the Zuma, but not for the Ojai's: www.strymon.net/product/zuma-mounting-kit-brackets-for-pedaltrain-pedalboards/

when I first heard that you need to literally make a hole on the board I didnt believe.. but now im convinced that im not buying pedal train.. big bullshit that you gotta make the holes..
@paulmckeever Жыл бұрын
Hello firattherat: I'd never suggest that one *has to* make a hole on the pedal board. If you want, you can just use velcro, or zip ties, or any other solution. It's just that, for those who want to do it, Strymon offers braces that can be fastened to one's board. I chose to use their braces. They're awesome (you could drop that board from 10', and that Strymon unit would not break away from the board). Also, the Pedaltrain board is totally solid. If you want to fasten a Strymon power supply to it, there are multiple ways to do it: you do not have to drill holes into the Pedaltrain board. In fact, on this board, I use a combination of velcro and zip ties to fasten Strymon power extension packs to the bottom of the Pedaltrain board.
