Not a big Dior fan, but I LOVE embroidery. It's a craft I do regularly, but that level and detail or work is really time consuming. Dior's embroidery is LEGENDARY, the craftmanship has always been so exacting. I think the hand embroidered Lady Dior bags and boxes look like investment pieces. Embroidery, because of how it is constructed is always unique. I could get behind the big price increases if the brands started making all luxury pieces more individualized and unique. Is that something you consider at all when you look for items?

I absolutely love getting to look at the museum thank you. I was in England in June but we could only stay in London for a few days as my son was doing tours of universities. He since gone off and left me and is up in Newcastle playing soccer at Northumbria. I miss him terribly and have been buying new handbags to pass the time. LOLOL.

This is so random but my mum kept having loads of issues with pillows and kept buying more and couldn’t get a good one… Turns out it was actually her mattress! She bought a new mattress and suddenly all of her neck issues were gone and the pillows were fine! Might be worth considering if you haven’t had a new mattress in a little while 😊❤

I destroy pillows fast...they become pancakes in no time no matter what I paid. Now I've learned to take 2 pillows that I've pancaked and stick them in one pillowcase (envelope cases work best) to create one firm pillow that will never become more flat. I just spot treat them and launder them when needed.

Also have loved the dior material bags - the ones with the blue stitching. I wonder If there are any good dupes of those.. and also I LOVE that style of furniture! It feels homey to me - warm neutrals, reds golds etc. I think it would be so cool to fit those pieces in a home in a homey feeling way! ^^ lovely. Definitely my style.

I also recommend The National Portrait Gallery which has all the paintings of people and oh how they bring history to life! The art galleries are the greatest joy of London life! If I had the money to buy furniture like that, I would prefer antiques. Just personal taste though. I would never spend money like that on a pillow, though it is worth considering that if you are having four pillows, the decorative ones do not need to be quality, only the one each with you and your husband actually use. Unless you use two each, which many people do. Thank you for the video!

The furniture is very opulent and doesn't fit my lifestyle. I would buy it if I was a 1920"s movie star 😂 And, I agree with you when you ask what is wrong with the world that pillows sell for hundreds of dollars. I spent $70 on my pillows which I thought was outrageous although they do the job terrifically! Do you have Bed, Bath & Beyond in the UK? They offer a nice affordable selection:)

Thanks for the lovely browse around harrods. The embroidered dior bags always take my breath away. One day, I'm going to get one for the sole purpose of looking pretty on a shelf. Sophie: for pillows, AMAZON has some amazing down pillows--also Ikea's feather model is wonderful. I do the Ikea on bottom with the down on top. I have tried every crazy expensive brand under the sun and these are really the best (and seem to last the longest). Also, can I just say that Dior is killing it right now with blue and white? So so pretty.

Hi Sophie, a lovely vlog and I hope you enjoyed your day off as much as I enjoyed watching. I have a nostalgia for chaise long as my god mother had one in her house in my teens, and I remember making long phone calls to my boyfriend at the time sitting on it - but for me I am happy with my memories and wouldn't buy one! For those not familiar, the five big museums in London, such as the portrait gallery in this video are free (at point of entry, we pay a part in our taxes). Definitely recommend checking them all out. (Literally wrote this comment as you said it was free 😂)
