I just got the Hazet 760-18 pliers. I do like the feel of them. I think the Knipex are still superior but they are the best quality I've had compared to my knipex. Avoid NWS. They rust easily and dont seem very great. For the money i would say to stay with knipex

I would agree, stick with Knipex for the money, really hard to beat. That's a bummer that you have had bad luck with NWS. I don't have a lot of experience with NWS but the little I have had has been decent. Thanks for commenting.

Thanks for commenting and watching. So what do you think, are they worth the money?

Like the 760-2 better, yup I would purchase them.

Very cool, I wasn't sure if people would consider them with the much higher price tag. Good to know. 👍🏻

Great comparison, I actually have both, Gedore also makes very similar and also blue tools. From the start I can tell you I like the knipex ones more, I have some older versions slightly different from the new ones and also heavier. Weight is not a real problem here. Actually this lever action button is not the best when you work outdoor and some debris can go under that lever on the hazet. If that pivot pin is not fully seated you can do some damage to the teeths. The knipex is easier to clean,and that lever doesn't make much difference for me. Also the heat treatment is better on the knipex cobra, more durable teeths on the gripping jaws. Don't get me wrong, hazet makes great tools, sockets, torque wrenches, and special tools for automotive industry. But I mostly choose knipex when it comes to pliers.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I like the feel of the Hazet water pump pliers but ultimately I agree with you. The knipex versions are so well executed that I wouldn't recommend these over the Knipex unless you had to have blue. 😂

I have the Hazet water pump pliers and the teeth are not as sharp as the Knipex. I like the lever adjusment for the Hazet better than the Knipex button. I haven't had the problem with debris getting under the lever yet. I'm going to buy the Hazet plier wrench and try it. My goto water pump pliers are Knipex auto ajdusting. I wish they had additional sizes.

If I'm not mistaken, the Gedore pliers wrench is made by Orbis Will. So, in a way, the Gedore pliers wrench is made by Knipex, as Orbis is a wholly-owned subsidiary.

@@andrews3137 Good to know, wasn't aware of that. The Gedore pliers look amazing too, maybe I will get a pair to test sometime. 👍🏻

The weight makes a big difference in actual use. The heavier tool might feel nice and give an impression of quality, but in reality the Hazet weighs almost as much as the 300mm Knipex. The Icon ripoff is also much heavier then the Knipex, but confusingly seems to also have more handle flex
@garnerreviews2 ай бұрын
Yes, weight definitely plays a factor in actual use of the tool and may be considered more depending on the individual. I think for some the extra weight won't be a consideration but I appreciate the strength and weight savings that Knipex achieves in their tools. As far as the Icon is concerned, I would imagine that it is the perfect example of cheaper materials not being able to compete when weight and strength are factored in. Thanks for watching and commenting. 👍🏻

If I didnt already have cobras, I would consider these. But it doesnt seem worth upgrading into for the price.
@garnerreviews8 ай бұрын
Yeah the price is definitely up there. Might be worth it for some though, and it seems like you are getting a quality pair of pliers which I would expect from Hazet. Thanks for watching and commenting.

The Hazets look like they've got a bit more steel in them. I'm not sure it's needed but you can see the quality is there.
@garnerreviews7 ай бұрын
The quality is definitely there and you are correct about the additional steel. Definitely heavier than their Knipex equivalents. Thanks for watching and commenting.

😂 Glad I could crush your expectations. How should it be pronounced?
@xxrice8 ай бұрын
I've always heard Knipex pronounced as nipex, like knot or not.

Yeah Ks not silent.. theres a utube vid from knipex teling you its kuh-ni-pex.👌 either way good stuff, only recently heard of Hazet, theres also a 3rd german company but forgot name.

gedore was the third, wihi and wera are establishing themselves in US already along with knipex.. never heard of wurth or fein.
@garnerreviews8 ай бұрын
I believe as @jasonmanahan6188 has said, it is pronounced kuh-ni-pex according to Knipex. But honestly in the states most people know what you are referring to either way you pronounce it. Thanks for watching and commenting. 👍🏻
