On the point mentioned at 22:57-ish: (Pre-RotAE) The elemental protection is not categorized the same as the gem resistance, i.e. you don't ever hit the cap with the gems (48%) + protection (10%) = ~58% @625 GS (The only time you would hit the cap is using an elemental ward potion while being close to the cap, those potions are categorized the same as the gems) Therefore, you would still want the protection of an amulet if you are going to be a melee proximity healer in PvE.

Whenever I use the Flail combined with Life-staff, I feel like a Dwarven Cleric. I'm glad they gave us a melee that increases damage with Focus.

I love this build ! But I have a very difficult question, please. When you are a dungeon, you play with distances too or the groupe is separates a little, how to manage the heal if there is a problem ? Shouldn’t we have a target spell ?

i was thinking of running shroud gear+nimble coat with flail. hearty,sacred,arcane or strike damage ring, 1 refreshing on earring, force 2 refreshing on shroud and 2 weapon perks, while having main weapon perk on LS and building arcane damage runeglass on armor to further empower flail abilities and detonate heartrune. i havent done any testing, but hopefully i can do a lot more damage than VG

Whats the take on splash of light here ? Why is it not worth getting ? I had a couple of groups struggle with damage reduction when certain debuffs hit. Trying to play the Cleric Build btw.

Im thinking of maining healer as a flail, the lifestaff as secondary, using splash as main healer for ranged so I don't have to turn around. Will have to test this when the expansion hits. Thanks for the guide.

Really trying to make the flail/life staff build work but just not sure how to optimize it. Feel like the gear part of this was done well, but would love another video focused on that as still unsure what is best. Round shield or featherweight with 2 heavy armors? what perks? etc.

Nice video, really educational and well structured. However, what i am wondering is, is there any need to optimize healing later on or can you easily heal everything in m3 if you just have decent gear and attribute assignements? I am level 49 and so far expiditions seem quite easy to heal.

I think the Medium Legs that give you loads of extra stats are a good all-rounder! Combine them with Medium Boots, Gloves or Helm and a Light Chestpiece!

In this video you run sacred ground on the life staff but on the NWD it states divine embrace. I went with sacred on my life staff but I see so many others going with embrace and I'm confused as to why they would run that and not sacred ground on the life staff. Thoughts?

What changes would you make for OPR? with 100 con and light armor I am extemely squishy. If I am near an enemy I am almost always insta killed, doesn't matter if it is only one enemy. If a ranged targets me, especially a musket, I can be dead in two shots which again, feels very odd for a healer.

Is the flail still doing a fraction of the damage that the vg is doing? Bc if so it won't be worth it. I keep seeing videos of people using it with 300+ strength and they are only doing 1500-2k damage per attack. Where as vg, with the void blade you will do 4k+

So far what I'm seeing on ptr the flail does the least amount of damage in the game by a Longshot, and its suppose to be an aggressive healer melee weapon. So yes keep using the vg. If you don't like the vg use the hammer. And if people tell you the hammer is useless on a healer, those are all people who've never tried it lol so they have no room to talk

@@Altarknight I tested just with Sacred, just the minimum number of perks to have Divine Blessing but didn't put one in yet. (Did my best to make sure no other perks proc'd to boost healing) Used vg to life drain, cast SG, stepped in after it drained all that it could. Was in the 600s. Added the point to DB, drained, cast SG, stepped in and was in the high 800s. Only difference was Divine Blessing.

with good enough groups i take it you can go vg/flail and the passive healing from both weapons would probably be enough, maybe hopefully. i don't really like the lifestaff in this game so i'm just waiting for anything to replace it with.
