NEW Helikon-Tex Chicom Chest Rig

I generally use a chi-com style chest rig here in Alaska. The fit the bill for what I need at this point. This rig has some great modern features I can really appreciate. They didn't go overboard with anything from what I can see. They seem to have kept it practical and functional. I wont know until mine arrives next week. Thnx for the video,. Got GUARDIAN CHEST RIG a few years back, realize the current price about USD $149 now. The one produced in Vietnam, hopefully as good as European made one.

Kinda makes me sad that they did not make 4 columns of webbing on the side instead of 3. BTW it's way more easier to disconnect the buckles under your arms and than take the rig on/off. It's the entire beauty of H type harness ;)

Just a quick question about running mags in that internal pocket. How well do those competition mag pouches hold ak47 style magazine is it a struggle to get the bungee retention lines to hold the mag and how easy is it to insert and remove them? Otherwise another great video and a very nice improvement on the audio.

They only hold M4 mags I'm afraid. Helikon really need to sort more AK mags. This cheat would only for with M4 mags

Scorpion mags are perfect. Like I say, they still rattle about but was less than other M4 mag pouches

It's a total guess... I'd say no. Helikon-Tex don't usually go that far with their gear. Pure guess though 👍

Great low profile chest rig. Only 3 mags is too low a capacity to justify a rig, IMHO. Should have a min of 4 for a small kit like that, or could have made the pouches double mag pouches.

Yep, I have to agree especially when the OG chest rigs this is taking inspiration from had more. Still a great rig for a light skirmish or range day

It is yes. I love the adaptive green from Helikon. I'm a fan of the different from OD green colours like RAL7013, Ranger Green and Adaptive green

Love this short of modern chicom remake did check the price and I think if it was around the £40 region would definitely pick one up but until the prices drop I’ll just stick to the old reliable chicom (really good review by the way)

Its humble indeed its even too humble for the price (70€ ) Might as well just buy the Condor 7 pocket chest rig for half the price and double the utility. 99% of the people will use it on the Shooting Range, Wander-Marches, Camping or Airsoft anyway. Ofc this Price wont bother a Well established man like yourself, but the lack of 2 Utility pouches and at least 2 "Grenade" pouches on the sides is really disappointing. Its a really bare chestrig with no love put in it.

Sorry, but this has to be one of the worst rigs on the market. The pouches are too narrow for anything other than AR mags and too flimsy to re-index without slinging your rifle, looking down and using two hands. You need a dump pouch with this. Forget using this with real firearms in a real fight, it will likely get you killed. Belt kit / webbing is far superior. Just my 2p worth.

That's a fair comment. This isn't definitely a legacy style rig that's reasonably close to the originals. Chest rigs have come a long way in the last 50 years. Suits me well for airsoft and my style of play. Not sure I'll be doing hot reloads with this rig or any others 😂 thanks for watching Jon 🤙
