I can't seem to get the cameras to show in the main view. If I go into maintenance and management under device I can see my NVR box listed. It says its online as well. This is on a second laptop computer. On my other PC I can see all six cameras when I go to main view. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

Hi Rrick and thanks, if you go to device management and then remote configuration option ( cog icon ) and select basic , it should take you to the web page of the device where you can set each VCA rule as needed direct to the NVR / DVR which is better in that we are more compatible this way , I hope this helps

we recommended always the DVR / NVR for record but you can install the storage server on 4200 during install of 4200 software and point it to the local PC , but its not as reliable

Yes it does, up to 4 screens can run, and 64 camera per screen but that will make the PC to slow

if you login to the camera interface and then go to the image sub menu , in there you can change it to auto or scheduled etc , it may be stuck on night mode 😊

Thanks for the lovely comment, we only support the video wall now in the older model of 4200 which is limited with what it can do , we do have a stand-alone version of 4200 video wall software which is still popular but it doesn’t allow all 4200 functions just video wall control , we advise HIK-Central to be used if you need full control , I can look at doing a 4200 video wall control video

Technically you can do this and install the “storage server” element on install . but as its FOC software it can crash if you put a lot of load through it , if you do want to do this I would use a Windows based server for stability , but NVR is better

Hi , HIK-Central has 2 options for the video wall , you can use the smart wall license and hardware decoder like the DS-69UDI range, or we now also do a client video wall license which is cheaper but tries to give the similar control to the client as if using a decoder, I prefer the decoder as its more powerful but its possible either way , if you choose the decoder option you can add multiple decoders to the system and manage them from the client with the smart wall license, and the PC can still run up to 4 screens as long as the spec is meet , regards the license where are you based and I will get a contact for you 😊

@@DVSLTD first of all it is not working, when I export it is just a csv file with my devices having parameters. No alarm. On the other hand I don't need export of alarms, but I need to list and filter them by criteria and to localize very easy some footage by double clicking the image. This is very useful function and I can't find it into so sophisticate and nice software.

Hi, For ages now, as well as the query about the virtual draw for line crossing, every time I open the Basic settings as you do in the video, I get a box indicating a script error and nothing happens. If I open the Advanced option, the page opens briefly with all the options but then vanishes leaving just a few of the items to select.. Dave i have a trouble with ivms V3, can you help me ? When one camera has disconnect from de network, all other câmeras in ivms live view appears a message : "Reconnecting...User does not exist, please input again. (Error code: HCNetSDK.dll[47].)". But if i select the custom view all cameras return to the live view. Did you see any kind of this problem ?

Hi , thanks for the feedback , actually I did see some strange things in early versions, are you using the latest 3.1.1.9 version ? I can send if needed , uninstall the last one ,backup 1st , then re-install latest and import the config if you need to input the data back in, but just as Quick to add again to be honest , let me know if this does or does not help 😊

list of my equipment : 3 x 256ch NVR's - 1 x 32ch nvr. total of 505 cams of whitch is 70 ptz's. 7 x pc's with IVMS4200.if pc's are rebooted or software is opened, cams take up to 20min to load before live view is available. i am concerned that pc's lan port receives more data than what it can handle. Any ideas ?

Hi , and thanks for this , we can use HIK-Central to achieve this , we can view more than 64 on the latest 4200 , but it will really impact the PC performance have you tried the latest 4200 ? it can support 64 cams on 1 screen , so you would need 2 screens

you have added the device but not the channels, please go into the group tab under device area , and add a group and then pick that unit that hasn’t bought the cameras in as the device group to be created, this should then resolve this issue 😊

My camera shows offline no matter what i do, I have tried numerous network settings, the camera is working when i view through a browser. When I go to configuration/camera management/ip camera, status is online, I used the IP address from here when setting up the camera in iVMS. Preferred DNS is the same as my router, alternate is 8.8.8.8. All the troubleshooting guides only tell me to changed those settings but still no good. Also tried DHCP and auto DNS, no joy.

Should the H264+ option be used to compress the data and minimise HD usage? I have a new NVR setup with 2 X 4mp colorvu cameras but when playing back the motion triggered footage as people move across the screen the playback will freeze for 3 seconds and then jump forward. Hi danny , I would use H.265 rather than H.264+ , to be honest I try to avoid H.265+ and H.264+ as they can have some effect on the image and also limitation of functions, H.265 performs very well ,

How do I delete an IP Camera from the IP camera Management menu? I have many unused channels on my NVR and I can't Add any more IP cameras because NVR says I have no more room (channels) available to add more cameras. How to fast forward on ivms-4200? Default setting is only up to x16 times. When I move with mouse the time frame under the video, the video freezes and starts when mouse is released. But in some cases we need to fast forward and watch in real time what is happening.

most people who aren't using this for their businesses would probably like a basic tutorial about how to get motion detected videos sent to their emails, etc. Can you do one, or do you already have one made for this? Not everyone is tech savvy these days, and would like an easy step through for this type of usage. Or is there some other software you would recommend that isn't so robust? Oh, also, one of my cameras is a ptz and I can't seem to see that camera from the internet, even if I replace my internal 192 ip address with the actual external ip. Yes it supports ONVIF but its best to add the non HIK camera to the NVR / DVR and do it that way but it will support ONVIF

Hi , by chance are you using HIK-Connect to bring the unit into the software? If so this isn’t supported currently. You can either use a static IP address or on playback press the record icon on each camera on playback and record this section to the local PC , it’s not quite as easy but will get around it , if you’re not using HIK-Connect then please let me know the adding method 😊

Hi, the best way is to use HIK-Connect if the device supports it , on the DVR/NVR please go to the network settings and platform access, then enable hik-connect and set the verification code as needed, then login to the www.hik-connect.com and register , set username and password and login , then add device by scanning QR code in platform access from smart phone or by typing in the 9 digit serial number on the sticker on the DVR. Then use the same details to login to the P2P account on ivms-4200 software

Can you live stream camera feeds from Hybrid SAN? As far as I understand, Hybrid SAN can record camera feeds without needs additional equipment. This is good architecture because Hybrid SAN located in the rack securly. But I'm not sure Can iVMS-4200 can stream from Hybrid SAN? Can I assume this will be same as demostrated in this video?

What is the method to do a virtual line draw across the image in a line crosson event in iVMS 4200 version 3.5, I can not find this function anywhere!. I still have the older version, 2.8, but the latest releases does not appear to have this feature..

Can IVMS be setup so that its not using the internet when streaming so its connected wired?

yes , if you add the device by its local IP address that will be fine

@@DVSLTD thats what I did but it seems to be using the internet...i always only add my IP cameras using IP address..video footage live runs smoother on Web browser interface than IVMS......have I missed something?

How do you find the IP address to be able to add the device? I've tried using my Internet IP address but no luck...

do you mean of the local device on the system to add as the device or you trying to add a remote device and don’t know the IP ? if remote then we cant get it unless you where on the remote site and had the external IP and did the port forward and it was a fixed external IP of that site, maybe then using HIK-Connect is better

Can i ask a question? i am using ivms-4200 3.9.05 how can i separate the custom view from the layouts in the main view? in my main view it also has the custom view with my layouts and it also shows the NVR or DVR. I want to see in the main view, as shown in the video, separately the cystome view from the DVR - NVR. Like to your video in the chapter for the main view

yes you can do the analogue cameras via the DVR connection which will then be IP , but will be fine 😊

Hello and thank you for this video ! Why is it not possible with IVMS-4200 v3.6.0.6 to connect with a web browser on remote computers like HikCentral does ? IVMS uses Nginx but it seems totally blocked. If we do not want to register the devices on the HiKvision portal, it is impossible to view the cameras on several computers because access by a web browser falls on a blank page with an error (IPadress: port) and the IVMS client launches the server no matter what, it's not a real client to connect to a server. Can you tell me more ?

HI Sir, nice video, i have one question, i dont get why when i plug the ip camera directly in the nvr, the nvr put this kind of adress 192.168.254.X but with the 254 is not in my range more likely 192.168.1.X, and i am not able the go in web admin page, so can i change this ? Good job aniway.

I just need a little help to configure TLS connection. I have enabled https on the DVR with self-signed certificate. When I connect to the DVR from IVMS 4200 with TLS option checked (I still don't have the SSL certificate imported to IVMS) I cannot see the Live view of the cameras but the DVR status reads it's online. I can see Live view online when TLS is unchecked though. In the manual it is written that a security certificate can be exported from a browser but I cannot find that option in the web interface.

Hi, thx for the video. hope you can help with a question since i'm new to the HIK ecosystem. with iVMS set up on a computer with the "server" function running is it then possible to install the client-only on other PC's and letting them login to the running server in order to download recording and so on or do you need to setup every NVR on installation of iVMS? I can create users but can the only login to the software on the main PC running it or can they connect from their own workstation to download recordings and so on?

Hi Alex, I am going to be honest, I would add the NVRS and DVRS as the recording devices to the system and then add them to the software, then setup as needed, you can export the config and import it back into the other PC running the software, each software is separate and they don’t talk, I personally wouldn’t use the storage server element as I find it can crash the service or make the PC slow unless its high spec , whereas NVR / DVR is much better and safer option. I tried to connect with hik connect but that device comes up as offline0x1007 or something

Nice video but i have one question that i have encountered. I have Hikvision NVR Hikvision DS-7932NI. It has 16POE Channels and other must be connected using poe swich. Once 17+ Camera connected to NVR iš show as intended but on Ivms4200 side it only show that there are 17 in total but for some reason it lets only 16 Cameras to load on the system. Do other Cameras need to be aded separately or os there some option that i am missibg. T.y. in advance.
