My famer friend Stuart Hancock kindly bought me this nice Clayson M135. Im sure he will find a use for it this summer with the small acreage he is growing.

Where my late father worked they had a 1964 M103 supplementing with an M135 nearly identical to this one with 10' and 12' tables respectively. The older machine always seemed more reliable but unsure why. Great memories from your video, thanks.

When you see round the workings of the 135 its almost identical to the 1530, we still work with two 1530's a 1974 model and a 1979 rotory screen model, both are 10 foot cut. We also have a M103 which was 12 foot cut but the head was cut down to 10 foot in 1977, all three of them still cut.

Quite daunted by the whole thing. Im not sure why. I suppose i just bought a combine that's not a Gleaner. I broken the mold. Just say thanks to Stuart Hancock. No way could i afford it but he's put the money down until i got a little behind me. Its a case of seeing if i can get a few fields to cut to make some cash back. I want this one too earn its keep if i can. It can help pay for my Gleaners to have a slightly easier life.

Good machines. This one runs smooth and is in remarkable condition. Main problem is going to be getting it through gates with the fixed header.
@rbharvesters74042 жыл бұрын
The header is detachable! We are going to take it of to transport it home.
@chrischillingworth48122 жыл бұрын
@@rbharvesters7404 Oh that's useful! For some reason, mainly senility, I thought detachable headers came in with the 1500s.

@@chrischillingworth4812 we took the header off, im uploading the video now. Managed to get 2 more combines into my possession now. The detachable header was even on the previous M80 and M103 models. Thats definitely true because i know people who have them. I think Claas and Massey were late catching on with the detachable header. The Matador had a fixed header, although i have heard the last ones might have had it as an option. Also the early Senator's had fixed headers and again the 400/500 and early 510/410 Masseys had fixed headers. Interesting really considering the 400 and 500 combines were streets ahead in terms of technology in their time.

@@rbharvesters7404 Oh interesting! Yes I remember the fixed headers on Claas and MF and the detachable ones coming in later on. Deutz Fahr had chain-driven drums where you changed the sprockets to alter the drum speed long after others had gone over to variators. Different manufacturers adopt different technologies at different speeds which makes life so interesting!

@@chrischillingworth4812 i have heard that the Deutz Farh combines were quite well liked at one time. You hardly ever see them anymore. I have a Gleaner with fixed drum speed. I think its constantly 1200rpm. You change the pully to alter the speed. Its never caused problems. I know one fella who had a vari speed Gleaner and turned it into the earlier primitive fixed speed. He said it was better. I do agree in some ways.

My dad had a few of these which I drove for a few years. Crap brakes, horrible driving position compared to the earlier M103 or later 1530, and they could be a bit too fast in a challenging crop with the larger wheels. This one is in great condition for its age though - all ours have been scrapped.

Yes crappie driving position. That was the main factor for me in getting rid of it. Lovely combine apart from that. If i am going to drive a combine all day in the full heat of the sun i need to at least be comfortable and i just wasn't. It need work to get it to wer i wanted it and i felt that it was all to much for a machine that i didn't really like driving. I would definitely like to try a 1530 or even better an 8060 one day

tidy combine needs a good clean
@rbharvesters74042 жыл бұрын
It would come up nice with a wash but most of that dust has come on it while its been sat in the shed. Im impressed by how clean he has kept the combine. Some farmers don't look after new combines this well. So hats of to the bloke i bought it off very good job. He looks after all his stuff very well.

This combine is for sale if anyone wants it. I want £2000 for it. If anyone wants to come and see it please message me and we can arrange veiwing. If i don't sell it not a problem i will keep it in the dry. Theirs nothing actually wrong with the combine but i just fancy something a little different. We are hoping to get a Massey Ferguson 515 for next harvest. Masseys combines are very collectable so make a fairly reliable investment.

Do you have any 8060 for sale plz tell me

No, i haven't! I don't see many of them anymore. The 8060 were a nice combine.
