We take out the New Holland Disc Mower and cut the first HAY field of 2022. The hay looks wonderful let's just hope the weather cooperates.

Great yield here in Glasgow Scotland this year! Did 35 acres last week all had 150kg fertiliser per acre in mid May produced 9 bales to the acre of silage using a mchale f5500 screwed right up, best crop I've seen in years. Love the videos keep them coming!

Great looking hay brother Aaron. Love your Mohawk hair cut. Just like mine. I wear mine because it's my F Cancer cut since I'm terminal cancer and fighting it for 6 years now. God Bless you brother

I'm not a farmer myself but I did see when I was younger And one trick we used to use for slipping belts was Hairspray and it works great
@PrairieSunsetRanch
@PrairieSunsetRanch 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, that is a useful trick to know for sure👍. Unfortunately i burnt the belt pretty bad in the heavy crop and I could of tried a hack like that but opted for a new belt, only bcuz the crop is so crazy heavy to cut through. Cheers 🍻Sandy & thanks for the visit my friend

Good move to go slowly with the weather up and down like that. Hope you can get it baled before month's end. Could have a big second on those fields.

You’ve had one heck of a year so far! That mower is so new you should be reimbursed for the cost of that belt

This year has been a matter of adjusting to our environment and man it's been challenging. But hey we are still here and going hard👌. Although the mower isn't that old it does have a LOT of acres cut and has taken som major hits in the field(rocks,Posts, etc). If I would have kept up to the belt tightness/tension a little more regularly the belt may have lasted a little longer. All the best Mary and thank you for the visit my friend 👍🏻

Getting awful dry here. Rain keeps going around us. Laid down 250 acres of rain bait but only got a tenth of an inch of rain on it. Looking pretty average yield wise on the 400ish bales I’ve made. About 3 bales that weigh around 1200# an acre. But the grain is heading out, needs a rain to fill. Nice 👍 looking hay there!! Hopefully haying doesn’t drag out too long on you.

Oh wow dry is no fun either. 3 bales an acre is decent given dry conditions.I might be haying while waiting for Santa Clause this year 🤣 Cheers 🍻 Chad

I haven't started yet the weather just hasn't been there to think you can actually get it up without a rain got nearly 2 inches this morning but it sure looks like good weather started Wednesday...., it'll be go time.

I've sourced out a couple wrappers if needed. However the hay dried pretty good and have pushed out some really nice bales already. I will explain in next video.👍🏻 Cheers 🍻 George

Hay looks good here, but not 💩 for yield.. probably be buying hay or selling cows... Or find more to cut...
@PrairieSunsetRanch
@PrairieSunsetRanch 2 жыл бұрын
Ahhh chit! Hopefully you can find some areas to pull some more hay from. Last year we sold a few big cows I would have never sold but had to in order to guarantee my girls all ate good over winter. Friggin tough choice to make. I hope things turn around for you and All the best my 🇺🇸 brother cheers 🍻

How does your mower compare to a sickle mower in stony ground ?
@PrairieSunsetRanch
@PrairieSunsetRanch 2 жыл бұрын
Honestly Dale the Disc mower is king.... However if you have a lot of stones have the grinder and blades on hand. Or just cut higher. I do love my disc mower.
