If the glass is comparable to the regular A.E.M.S.,it would be a night vision specific upper monster.

Yes, seems to be decent glass for the size. Might vision probably the "why" it was created. I didn't think of that.

I also have not had any issues with Holosun optics. They're pretty rugged imo. My first ever pistol optic was a Trijicon RMR RM06 type 2. It's a good and damn near indestructible optic. But the window is very tinted and even has a bit of fish eye effect. The next pistol optic I bought was a 507c and after I bought that 507c I never purchased another RMR again. It's the same form factor but just...better. It isn't as durable I'm sure but the glass clarity is better, the dot is crisper to my eye, and the battery life is unironically justasgood. Then I started getting into the big window competition style optics and once again I started with an SRO. Now, I REALLY like the SRO. I carry an SRO on my edc. But then Holosun came out with the 507 comp and while its different than an SRO it is also a very good optic that is easy to shoot fast. I'm not sure which I really prefer but I definitely prefer the price tag on the 507 comp. The SRO is still one of my favorites though. I'd quite like to try Vortex' new big window optic. Personally I do wish the 507comp was offered in a 5moa version. I actually really like the 5moa dot on my SRO.

I think they are working on a 5 or 6 moa on the 507 comp

On there regular AEMS there's a bit of distortion towards the top of the lens. Is there less or none on the AEMS max? How about blue tint? The same or less?

Maybe a good use case for it would be on a PCC to replace the 510c for rainy climates to have a closed emitter for competitions?

I might try that. It likes to rain in my are this time of year.

What’s the point of mounting 2 red dots on your gun?
@isaaclockwood1839Күн бұрын
Main optic, AEMS, is zeroed at 50yds, the 507comp at 25yds. I use the offset for close, low and fast targets as well as prone/shooting under things and hard leans. Top optic for everything else.

For a casual user it's... interesting. Gotta wonder about what kind of light signature it generates through the front lens and thats an awfully big piece of reflective glass on the front. It also really pushes the size limits for an unmagnified optic.
@mffoutdoors72333 күн бұрын
I run the old AMES on my night gun. For the money it is a really great night sight for passive aiming, mainly because it has a bunch of night setting. I think the intent for the larger objective window was to appeal to the night vision market to compete with the EOTech.
@FloorItDuh3 күн бұрын
I have both Eotech and holosun. While the holosun is damn good it cannot be physically better than the eotech for night vision use. It's physically impossible due to the technologies employed in the eotech vs the holosun. I like both don't get me wrong, there is a clear difference between them and that is okay.
@mffoutdoors72332 күн бұрын
@ I tend to agree, the EOTech is a superior quality optic intends to do a little bit better for passive aiming. And certainly when you consider the price point of both the optics I think you would be pretty foolish to buy the Hollison over the EOtech considering the price very similar. All that being said for an EOtech alternative, the AEMS does very well.
@isaaclockwood1839Күн бұрын
I believe you are correct. I didn't even think about night vision but I'm no operator.
@c0c0asauce2 күн бұрын
I would like to get my hands on one. If both eyes are open and the shooter is used to finding the dot I don't see a big window making much sense in day time CQB. However, when your eye is a long way from the sight like using NV or with a big magnifier I could see some potential benefits. It certainly looks cool.
@isaaclockwood1839Күн бұрын
That's what I was thinking. Some of the other guys made a great point, and probably correct, that it was made for nods.
