Fun stuff. Great independence and control. I like expanding battery storage and peak power output with no permits or construction fees/contracts. Just do it yourself. Stackable inverter - that would be cool!
@ericgould32922 жыл бұрын
@@boblatkey7160 I agree; one should have a permit when installing your solar and storage system. Permits give you the satisfaction that your new solar system is safe and compliant. In addition, if something goes wrong, your insurance company may not cover work or damages caused by work without permits and inspections. Also, mandatory inspections complement the contractor’s experience and act as a system of checks and balances, resulting in a safer project. However, I prefer not to require permits for just the expansion of a storage unit.

I wouldn’t say it’s a better battery all around. The stack’d architecture just makes it easier to get more storage capacity out of a single battery stack.

We just had 18 400 watt solar panels installed and the Enphse Envoy in between the solar panels and the service panel. What additional equipment would be needed to add the HomeGrtid Stack series to our current configuration? Our setup is not allowed to be connected when the grid goes down and would like to know how that affects the configuration of the system.

Help me make sense of this? ecodirect has a 38.4kw stack for purchase at $22k, comes to about $570 per kwh. With 8 of SOK's or EG4's 48v 100amh batteries, you can achieve the same storage at $350 per kwh. SOK batteries are user serviceable, same chemistry and a 15 year warranty. How is this an economical choice for home owners? I am in the market for a battery solution, help me understand why I would pick this over EG4-ll or SOK flagship batteries?
@SolarSurge2 жыл бұрын
Hi Craig. Good question. The EG4 batteries are more for a DIY type customer. For a professional installation with a warranty, the Homegrid offers the lowest cost per kWh. Most professional installers will not warrant an install using EG4.

How does this compare to enphase battery systems. I am getting enphase microinverters so it would nice to know what are my options other then enphase for example / compatibility etc. Also, it may just be too cost prohibitive to seek the optimum lithium ion battery solution. There seem to be sulfpher and salt solutions that if realized would be significantly cheaper, but how far off is that reality.....???
