I started watching you before I got my first horse at the ripe old age of 62😛 five years ago. He was a 5 year old gelding that didn’t know much of anything. I knew even less. I’ve followed your way of “thinking like a horse” to this day. I can honestly say that most people I meet comment on how I have the kind of horse everyone wants. I treat him the way you treat Buddy. I don’t have to use a rope to catch him. He mostly follows me around like a puppy dog. I talk to him like he understands every word I say. I ride bitless in a rope halter . No iron anywhere. I think you probably don’t really care about all the crybabies giving you all their suggestions, but I love hearing you make fun of them. All I can say is THANKS because I believe I have such a great horse because I learned most of it from you.

I like seeing that Buddy and Ransom are in close proximity to each other by choice, and not anywhere close to Belle, that pasture is large enough that they can move off from each other if they wanted. They are relaxed and just grazing- still aware of each other of course but more trusting. At one point they had their backsides to each other. Buddy had a lot of excited energy at first but Buddy is good natured and was well trained by you and Mr T. Peoples comments are like the old saying. "Things look different when you are on the outside looking in". We are all on the "Outside looking in". Rick you have hands on and have the advantage of experience and you are there and can see their interactions. You are watching them and you are aware if his limping, if it progresses I'm sure you will see that and take appropriate steps.

I've always believed that animals know what they need and follow their nature. Horses dominate or follow, it's that simple and they chase off other horses. Buddy and Ransom will hash it out using "horse sense". Bell will find her spot and they will live like horses. Hands off is best.....good going Rick!

Agreed. Watching this process reminds me of how I introduce long-term dog boards to my pack. It takes about 3 days -week for everyone to find their place in the pack. I had a retired Standardbred who had a limp in front, from racing until 11 years old. He was gelded at 7, and would round up the mares and wear himself out. Putting him in a separate field with old ponies never worked, he would pace the fence all day, calling to the mares. He went back with the mares and seemed to settle down, as long as a gelding was not out. Pain medication helped a bit, but was not necessary as he seemed to manage. He lived until 21. No wonder he was Province Champion for years.

Your commentary is as entertaining as the horses themselves. At 11:05 gibingly saying, "...and they're trying and maybe they need a participation trophy..."

I think its nearly safe to say that all the Ransom money has been paid in full!!. These have been some of my favourite videos. Perfect non interference horse observations. Please keep doing these videos and just ignore the wannabe experts, pains in the ass so they are.

I have no horse knowledge or background and am learning so much. I’ve always lived horses but never had the opportunity to have one etc. I’m really enjoying these. Thank you. Loved watching you do Random’s feet and give him relief and get him in shape since taking him under your care.

Omg haven't been on your page in a while. I had no idea. Rip Mr T. I'm so sorry for you guys and glad you got him a herd

That’s the problem when you are so good with the horses; you make it look easy so they put it down to being an easy horse. It’s just unbelievable how anyone can watch these videos, and listen to everything you say and do and not learn anything and not understand the page is called THINK LIKE A HORSE!!! We call that a clue, people!!! My god, I can really empathise with your frustration, Rick. The majority of your viewers are absolutely loving these videos, learning lots, and can’t wait for the next video.

Father knows best, Rick! (I hope you didn’t think I suggested meds for Ransom because of the question I asked yesterday). I just asked if he takes any. I don’t have a horse and I don’t know a damned thing, other than what I’ve learned from your videos. I usually stay quiet, but I have ALOT of questions!

Thank you Rick for taking the time to make these videos for all of us to learn and enjoy. My husband laughs when I say I have to check to see if there’s a new video as I run to my iPad.

I have learned so much from this series. It’s also super fascinating to me about horse behavior and body language in horses.

I love sitting on the hill and watching how my horse interacts with the herd at the ranch where I board. We could all learn something by just keeping an open mind and observing.

I think they're doing fantastic. Ransom has brought Buddy back to the present and not think too much about the past.

Please don't let the negative comments discourage you from posting videos! I, and many others are learning and enjoying so very much! I've always wanted a horse, but thanks to you, I know I'm not cut out for the job (best thing for the horse). I've watched you for years, thank you for your time.
